 For more information, I've checked
 http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/build/plain/NEWS?id=libreoffice-3-3-1
 for list of commits in libreoffice-3.3.1.2 (3.3.1rc2) and
 libreoffice-3.3.1.1 (3.3.1rc1), which are in 2 topmost. And they
 contains only bug fixes.
 So, IMHO we should change 3.3.1 to 3.3 in [1].

[libreoffice-website] Proposal for a little change on http://www.libreoffice.org/get-involved/qa-testers/

2011-10-17 Thread Stefan Weigel
Hi,

we do have a page for developers
(http://www.libreoffice.org/get-involved/developers/) and another
page for QA people
(http://www.libreoffice.org/get-involved/qa-testers/).

On both the reader is invited to join the developers mailing list
(http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice).

My suggestion is, from the QA page to point to the QA list
(http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-qa)
rather than the developers list.

Regards,

Stefan

  and
  http://drehscheibe.libreoffice.org/support?version=3.4.3os=linx86

  an english equivalent that has the additional benefit of being shorter
  would be hub

  so I'd propose
  http://hub.libreoffice.org/type[?paramenters]

 Two comments:
      * It should be possible to have more than one link from within
        LibreOffice - e.g. extensions, templates, bugs, feedback,
        ordering coffee, ...

Yes, that's covered, the initial part of the URL would reflect that,
in the above example the type string.
i.e. hub.libreoffice.org/extensions[?parameters]
hub.libreoffice.org/templates{?parameters] etc.

      * The maintenance effort should be low - I don't know if the
        current idea means to manually add redirects for each published
        version.

No - simplest is to create versioned pages as necessary and evaluate
the URL parameters either using javascript on the client or with php
on the server - both are simple to implement.
In case there is no match, just hand out the current/default page as
if no parameters were given.

      * It should also work for derivatives or non-TDF builds. Working
        means that we should be able to guide the user to a page that
        explains why its not working / what's the alternative.

How to do that is a matter of policy / how likely it is to encounter
such an URL from outside LibreOffice for example. If such an URL is
frequently used, then it is bothersome to use

hub.libreoffice.org/whatever?derivate=fedora

it would then be easier to have a lik
hub.libreoffice.org/whatever-fedora for example.

But that's a detail, my main concern was to have one single domainname
instead of 20.

 indeed, you raise very valid points here, and I am in favor of your
 solution - thanks for bringing this up!

 Would hub be a name acceptable for everyone? Alternatively, we can
 also use the more technical term of redirect, in case we want to
 reserve the name hub for some future items.

 Yes, redirect is fine for me ... personally, I never heard hub for
 that (might just disclose my non-knowledge *g*).

I was thinking about airport hub, like a central airport that connects
many routes (Verkehrsknotenpunkt) - or the center of a wheel (Nabe)
where the individual spokes (Speichen) are connected with each other.

ciao
Christian

  Well, yes it appears that the Nabble folks changed the js that is
  generated for embedding mail archives in web pages.

  so..here is the updated (low level js) script used for the LibreOffice
  User mailing list:

  var link=document.getElementById(nabblelink);
  if (link != null) {
 link.style.display=none;
 document.write(div id='nabbleforum' style='width:100%'div
  style='height:700px'img src='http://n3.nabble.com/images/loading.png'
  width='94' height='33' alt='Loading...'/div/div);
 var e = document.createElement(script);
 e.src =
  'http://n3.nabble.com/embed/JsEmbed.jtp?site=969070node=1639498url=' +
  encodeURIComponent(location.href);
 e.type=text/javascript;
 document.getElementsByTagName(head)[0].appendChild(e);
  }

  The libreoffice SS coding will need changing, I would think this is not
  needed at each page, only the custom js that is used by all pages.

 I would have preferred if you would have pointed out what exactly did change
 AFAIC it is the addition of the site=969070 parameter.

Yes, for sure - I don't have a copy of the old script...well, not that I
know of - it's too bad that we have to pass on the higher level HTML,
whcih would not have broken when the backend changed..I understand
however that it is just how it is.

 So will this be the same for all nodes (e.g. for all mailinglists), or
 will this be random like the list-node/different for each list?

No idea off the top of my head - will check today - see below.

  @Christian, I've CC'd you here as I have no access to this section.

 For future reference: it is in

 themes/libo/templates/Layout/NabblePage.ss

Great and thanks - not sure who has access to that area other then you
and Erich?

Ok well, just tested the old (now unpublished) page still no luck.. I'll
see if I can find more information.

[libreoffice-website] Donation-Portlet at the Extensions-Website

2011-10-17 Thread Andreas Mantke
Hi all,

I created a new donation portlet for the extensions website at the end of our
very
amazing first LibreOffice conference. The portlet lived up to today on my local
box.
I installed the source of the portlet on our TDF server today and activated the
portlet on the homepage of the extensions site. You can see it on the right
side of
the site.
I hope this helps to get more donations from our user and supporter.

Regards,
Andreas

Nice to see this being looked after.

Just in case the fix takes a while longer, could someone just link the 4
weblinks in the Nabble paragraph to the appropriate pages on Nabble? I
now see that they return correctly error pages rather than the
non-ending busy icon but it would be better to link then properly to the
Nabble pages they represent.

Cheers,

Marc
