[libreoffice-website] need copy of new theme on Wiki page for the NA-DVD

2013-06-03 Thread Kracked_P_P---webmaster

I saw the change in the menu bar theme colors and design.

see - https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications

I would like to have a copy of this theme for the NA-DVD web pages.

I like this new lighter green menu bar theme over the older style of
dark green.

The NA-DVD web-based pages currently uses the same dark green menu bar
theme as most of the LO web pages use.

like - http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?type=boxversion=4.0.3

But the newer Wiki light green theme colors are easier to read, or at
least for me.

Originally I just viewed the web page source and found the needed style
sheet theme locations and downloaded them. I cannot get this type of
information from the Wiki pages, or so it seems.

Any help?
I would like to keep up with the color and theme changes the were
created for the 4.x.x version of LibreOffice.

This is the section [and sub subtions] of the NA-DVD that has the second
menu bar, along with the first/top one.

see - http://libreoffice-na.us/English-4.0-installs/module.html

All of the rest of the pages show the single menu bar.

see - http://libreoffice-na.us/English-4.0-installs/documentation.html

thanks a lot for compiling this information, this was really useful!

So, in fact, it seems to be the IP of bilbo2, the new server for mailing
lists, has been blacklisted on APEWS, years before TDF was created, so
it's not us being the reason for this.

I researched a little, and it seems APEWS is a rather aggressive
blacklist that does not offer an option for delisting - in the end,
there's very little we can do. You should talk to your ISP whether it
makes sense to rely on this blacklist, as they seem to be blacking wide
ranges of IPs.

The reason why you are experiencing this now is - apart from bilbo2
being a new server with a new IP address - that mlmmj (the mailing list
software) has proper bounce handling, which didn't work before, so you
would have not received this error.

I must confess I don't know why only some mails are rejected. Either not
all of your ISPs servers use APEWS the same way, or some mails are
delivered via IPv6, where our address is not blacklisted.

Sorry I can't do much here - relying on APEWS for filtering seems to be
bad, as it doesn't allow ISPs to delist directly. :/

Yes, it should be dealt with by the company that is leasing the IP address

the leasing company dealt with the problems.

What ever caused that IP address LO uses to be black listed, it should be
cleared up for a new user to lease it without them being black listed for

I had the same issue with the public ip my isp had given me for my business

quickly resolved. I think at this point Florian would need to file a
support request letting hetzner know the ips in question and informing them
the date that ip address was black listed was prior to the ip being given
to the TDF and they should immediately get it resolved.

I just did a check on apews.org and non of the domains are coming up as
being black listed so it seems the ip addresses have already been removed.

I think Hetzner has no other options than I do - APEWS simply does not
offer delisting, it not even has a point of contact. Some had success
with posting on the Usenet or in a blog, but it looks tedious and may
take quite a while - Hetzner has no other options here.

The problem lies somewhere else: Using APEWS is simply not a good
choice, it seems, so it's sad Tim's ISP is blocking based on it.

I checked the Hetzner customer forum, and the APEWS problem is known -
even the Hetzner CEO himself said, using APEWS is discouraged and there
is no known way to get delisted.

DNSBLs work on an IP basis, not on a domain basis.

I did my check directly on the IP address of the affected
server/hardware. I was told, by my email hosting tech support person,
to check the IP address shown in the header of the emails that are
affected.

The one from the Mlmmj program stating there was bounced email states:

Received: from unknown (HELO p3pismtp01-021.prod.phx3.secureserver.net)
([10.6.12.26])

Received: from bilbo2.documentfoundation.org ([5.9.148.85])
Received: from bilbo2.documentfoundation.org (localhost [127.0.0.1])

The email posts that get through do not have the bilbo2 5.9.148.85
in the header:

Received: from unknown (HELO p3plibsmtp01-03.prod.phx3.secureserver.net)
([10.6.12.174])

Received: from mail-wg0-f48.google.com ([74.125.82.48])

The 10.6.12.26 is the IP address of the email server/service my
hosting/email/domain company uses.

I would need to have someone check the header of one of the bounced
emails, say one of the following bounced ones.

[list email - email reference number]

des...@global.libreoffice.org - 5907
us...@global.libreoffice.org - 30564
website@global.libreoffice.org - 11173, 11175, 11176, 11174

Then we can see what is in the header that might be causing the
bouncing. The email tech support guy would like to see the header and
help figure out that is causing their server to bounce it - according to
the black list references. Currently, if I look up the 5.9.148.85 IP
at the apews.org site, it tells me that that IP address is blocked and
why.

[libreoffice-website] Gerrit migration on June 19th

2013-06-03 Thread Florian Effenberger

Hello,

Alex, Robert and I plan to do a smooth migration from LXC to KVM based
virtual machines. Steps involved are recreating all production VMs in
KVM in parallel (we have enough IPs available), then shutting down LXC,
then upgrading the host system. Luckily, with KVM, the base OS and
kernel of the guest does not need to fit the one of the host.

For working on the gerrit migration, we have scheduled

Wednesday, June 19th,
at about 1600 UTC

Depending on how far we get, we'd directly switch the machines on that
evening.

Is there any critical blocker for the above timetable?

I also had a look at their website (© 2006-2010 by APEWS.ORG - guess

ever. But nevertheless it included a tiny bit of maybe helpful
information.

Sorry I can't do much here - relying on APEWS for filtering seems to be bad,
as it doesn't allow ISPs to delist directly. :/

Indeed. They explicitly write:

Q41: How does one contact APEWS?
A41: One does not. APEWS does not accept removal request by email,
fax, voicemail or letters. []

The only chance to get unlisted is to:
Q42: My IP address/range is being listed by APEWS but I'm not a

Placing the text APEWS: in the subject can help a APEWS editor or

that, although others may, no APEWS editor or developer will ever

heart.

Don't post there. You *WILL* be flamed, and rightfully so.

→ Tell your ISP to stop using APEWS blocklists. Every mail-admin who
uses that lists gives a s*t about its users. Fine if you want to use
it for your own business, if you're offering business to your clients,
using that blacklist is a stupid idea.

Let me put it in stronger words:
Using APEWS blacklist questions your ability to run services for other people.

I saw the change in the menu bar theme colors and design.

see - https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications

I would like to have a copy of this theme for the NA-DVD web pages.

are you talking about the wiki content, or the wiki theme? The latter
one is the original MediaWiki vector theme as bundled with recent
versions, we didn't incorporate any changes (thus it's now blue
instead of green). As for the content itself, I don't know if there
has been a change recently.

[if I am not stating my needs properly - it is because I started
emailing in the wee hours of the morning. I could not sleep so I
have been up since about 3am and it is now 5:33 am. Need to get a few
hours of sleep now, hopefully]

at - https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications

It shows Documentation/Publications
Documentation

Then is shows three menu bars. This menu bar theme is different than
the one[s] viewed a few months ago, which was a darker green menu bar
theme matching the http://www.libreoffice.org/features/ page theme.

I would like to change the menu bar theme color for the NA-DVD to this
new [better maybe] theme color that the Wiki pages show, that cannot
be edited but is shown in the content as {{TopMenu}} {{Menu}}
{{Menu.Documentation}} {{OrigLang|}}.  The {TopMenu} and {Menu}
theme colors are not editable unless you have the logo on abilities
for the folder[s] where these menu themecommands are stored.

I updated the NA-DVD theme when the LO web site page themes went the
the new dark green menu theme. I copied all of the information in
the theme folder[s] like /themes/css/layout.css,
/typography.css, and form.css. Plus the image folders aswell in
the theme folder.

When LO changed to the dark green theme, I did. Now the Wiki pages
have a different color theme that uses the new Green 4.0 color as part
of the new theme.

I used the following tags in the NA-DVD page[s] that used only one
menu bar.

link rel=stylesheet type=text/css href=themes/css/layout.css
link rel=stylesheet type=text/css href=themes/css/typography.css
link rel=stylesheet type=text/css href=themes/css/form.css

ul id=FirstNavigation
  lia href=index.html class=linkspanInfo/span/abr /li
  lia href=install.html class=linkspanInstall/span/a/li
  lia href=module.html class=linkspanModule/span/a/li
  lia href=extensions.html
class=linkspanExtensions/span/a/li
  lia href=templates.html
class=linkspanTemplates/span/a/li
  lia href=dictionary.html
class=linkspanDictionaries/span/a/li

  lia href=extras.html class=linkspanExtras/span/a/li
  lia href=documentation.html
class=currentspanDocumentation/span/a/li

  lia href=artwork.html class=linkspanArtwork/span/a/li
/ul

AND the second menu bar tags for those pages the used it, like
module.html and the files listed in the SecondNavigation list.

ul id=SecondNavigation
  lia href=writer.html class=linkspanWriter/span/a/li
  lia href=calc.html class=linkspanCalc/span/a/li
  lia href=impress.html class=linkspanImpress/span/a/li
  lia href=draw.html class=linkspanDraw/span/a/li
  lia href=base.html class=linkspanBase/span/a/li
  lia href=math.html class=linkspanMath/span/a/li
/ul

The only chance to get unlisted is to:

make fun of people.

Don't post there. You *WILL* be flamed, and rightfully so.

As is written on their page as well:
Note that posting messages in these newsgroups lists will not have
any effect on APEWS listings, only the discontinuation of spam and/or
spam support will.
Abusing these newsgroups lists by posting removal request you will
make a fool of yourself and are at risk to end up in additional
private blocklists, so think twice before posting.

So once again: Don't post to those newsgroups!

And this is of course still true.

I was told that the company who leased the IP address to LO is the one
that needs to contact APEWS. I would not use email to do this either.
Direct phone to a live person - yes person talking to another over the
phone is a rare concept to many people who grew up using free text
messaging and email services, but had to pay for the live phone calls.

So some tech manager at the IP leasing company talks to the APEWS tech
people by phone and maybe send faxes back and forth, or other non-email
messaging. Then maybe, somehow, APEWS will get the idea that the
current company using the IP address is not the people/company who got
reported for spam. But if APEWS feels that the owner of the IP address
was not doing a proper job in enforcing anti-spam policies, then things
will not work out and we need to get a new IP address in the range of
the ones we have that are not having these black list issues.
