Re: [libreoffice-marketing] Re: [libreoffice-website] Community Section uploaded
Hello Sophie, Le Tue, 26 Nov 2013 18:25:13 +0100, Sophie gautier.sop...@gmail.com a écrit : Hi Charles, all Thanks for your work on this. I didn't have time to review all the sketches you made, but only the Community for now, so some remarks :) - isn't Certification to be advertised on the community part? Well, I have put the certification on the Get Help section. It then points back either to the TDF website or to the wiki. As the Community section is quite cramped, I didn't think about adding there. But we could add it to the About us section as well, at least a redirection. - I like the way the dev page is presented, will it be the same for other projects? And also on this page, I'm not sure that the File a bug part is needed (I would more see Fix a bug ;-) I'll see what I can do about the fix a bug :-) I reviewed the other pages. For the moment, only the design page works in a similar way, but I think we could apply the same pattern to the localization page. If anybody has a proposal to order other community pages in that way they would be welcome, but for some of them I just don't see a content that can be formatted that way. also will you dedicate a button to coding videos? I have put a small section in the marketing page linking to our Youtube channel. I've actually browsed what we currently have there, but there's not a lot, if any development video (if you exclude developers' interviews). I think that in several months we could add a development video on the developers page though, but right now, I think there's simply not enough content. Or did I miss something? - for QA, may be also add a direct link to Moztrap Ah yes. - for L10n, instead of Website, I would put Check out the other localization projects and also a direct link to the documentation concerning the l10n process Okay. Please send me what precise URL you would like for the documentation. - for documentation, may be a link to odfAuthors and to the wiki sure. - for NLP, I would prefer to see Native-Lang Projects instead of Native-Lang Sites, it's more community :) sure. - nothing to say about UX :) - marketing: would it be possible to have a press kit with the good logo and some links to material for them? yes that was the idea to put them on the side box. - nothing to say about infra too. Hope this helps! Thanks a lot ! I'll proceed on the changes today and I'll upload the revised files. Best, Charles. Cheers Sophie Le 26/11/2013 11:06, Charles-H. [libreoffice-website] [Bug 72071] New: Web services info could need an update
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72071 Priority: medium Bug ID: 72071 CC: website@global.libreoffice.org Assignee: libreoffice-b...@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Web services info could need an update Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: bjoern.michael...@canonical.com Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: unspecified Component: WWW Product: LibreOffice It would probably make sense to collect an overview of our TDF services and some general advise on what to use for which purpose. All I found was: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Website/Web_Sites_services which misses OTRS, RedMine evaluation, gerrit, jenkins, ownCloud to name a few from top of my head. Adding notes like the one on the fdo bugzilla (we plan to move to foo etc.) to give orientation would be extra sweet. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: website+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/website/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

That would be great. so, in theory, we can offer you a MySQL database. However, the machine hosting the BSA is right now already at its limits, mostly related due to the load SQL creates (we're just growing and growing which raises the infra needs once again :-) - so I'm right now in favor of not adding more databases, but first finding a solution to the high load. By when would you need a database for testing? That's key IMHO. :-) Florian -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: website+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/website/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-website] Guideline to LibreOffice Twitter Account Administrators
Hi, As you know we have the following twitter accounts: TDF: https://twitter.com/tdforg LibreOffice Bugzilla: https://twitter.com/LibreOfficeBugs Ask.LibreOffice.org: https://twitter.com/AskLibreOffice PlanetTDF: https://twitter.com/PlanetTDF LibreOffice(Passive): https://twitter.com/libreoffice As i've said before(and request of Joren) i have prepared a draft for the account administrators of these accouns in TDF Marketing Pad: http://pad.documentfoundation.org/p/marketing Please feel free to add/remove the guideline. I hope this will be a good reference to the admins. As i handed over the Bugzilla account to QA team-Joren is the new account keeper. I want-and should to- hand over to Ask.LibreOffice account to someone from the ask team. Please contanct with me about this. Also, i pointed the importance of social media before, and i repat that we should not miss this opportunity. So we should need a better social media marketing. This is my suggestion to activate the @LibreOffice account and do the PR from there. Social media is a great opportunuty to promote the porduct with a low cost and high benefit. Thus i recommend to employ a part time(or home) social media personel to manage @LibreOffice account and more(Facebook, Google+ and Linkedin(not yet deployed but can do great job in this business specific social network) if it is possible. The return will be great. I want to underline the importance of social and personal communication where now we should easily have a good channel from twitter. We are all volunteers and we cannot have the effective time for this, so if we could arrange a budget for this - and sure it wont cost much as an exhibition- the best way is to hire someone with good communication skills and basic LibreOffice knowledge. I would like to remind you that our brand awareness is still lower that (Apache)OpenOffice: 1.st comparison Tweets per day: LibreOffice OR Libre Office and OpenOffice OR Open Office http://topsy.com/analytics?q1=LibreOffice%20OR%20%22Libre%20Office%22q2=OpenOffice%20OR%20%22Open%20Office%22via=Topsy 2nd comparioson including Microsoft Office http://topsy.com/analytics?q1=LibreOffice%20OR%20%22Libre%20Office%22q2=OpenOffice%20OR%20%22Open%20Office%22q3=%22Microsoft%20Office%22%20OR%20%22MicrosoftOffice%22via=Topsy (advance search tells how to use additional operators) See how Microsoft Office is doing a good job in twitter: https://twitter.com/Office I have been thinking about this for so long, and this is the best solution that i can bring here and it is my strong recommendation to hire a someone for this. For the last, this person can also has the role as community coordinator too.
