mattdm reported a new issue against the project: `fedora-websites` that you are following: `` For this to work, the attached file needs to be findable at https://fedoraproject.org/google4ddeb43aa58b0de1.html Is there a way to do that? `` To reply, visit the link below or just reply to this email https://pagure.io/fedora-websites/issue/729 ___ websites mailing list -- websites@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to websites-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org
[fedora-websites] Issue #695: Let's get Fedora higher on search results for "Linux"
mattdm added a new comment to an issue you are following: `` > @mattdm we need more people. Well, everyone and everything needs more people, so just saying that doesn't get us anywhere. I know it's a big project with a lot of ambition (I know for sure because a lot of it came from my ambitious ideas!) but is there a way we could break off a smaller chunk to serve as a dynamic front page, and then grow from there? `` To reply, visit the link below or just reply to this email https://pagure.io/fedora-websites/issue/695 ___ websites mailing list -- websites@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to websites-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org

robyduck added a new comment to an issue you are following: `` > How powerful is collective link building on blogs and such? I just linked > three references to Fedora on my blog and family website; I presume in and of > themselves they won't impact that much, but would such a process make a > difference if done on a larger scale? No, getfedora.org is not the place where we want to make link exchanges. Also, @mattdm is right, getfedora.org is not a replacement of fedoraproject.org, we did that with a specific target. It's a brochure website and not a Fedora news website. We can try to optimize SEO a bit, but not with artificial content which has nothing to do with the main purpose of getfedora.org. Not sure what @duffy wants to add here. `` To reply, visit the link below or just reply to this email https://pagure.io/fedora-websites/issue/695 ___ websites mailing list -- websites@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to websites-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org

[fedora-websites] Issue #695: Let's get Fedora higher on search results for "Linux"
mattdm added a new comment to an issue you are following: `` I don't think those statistics are likely to raise the search ranking though. @duffy and @robyduck worked together to initially design the getfedora.org site as a sort of "brochure". I'm not sure how frequently-changing updates would fit into the design. At the time, we had expected Fedora Hubs to provide that for fedoraproject.org, and having that redirect to getfedora.org was meant to be temporary. Ideally, really, we would focus on optimization of _that_ site, but as I understand it, it's going to be a while before Hubs is really ready to provide that. `` To reply, visit the link below or just reply to this email https://pagure.io/fedora-websites/issue/695 ___ websites mailing list -- websites@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to websites-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org
