[weewx-user] No module named configobj

2020-05-06 Thread Janez Kranjski
I'm using Weewx 4.0 on my Raspberry Pi.
A computer has installed two Python versions (2.7.13 and 3.5.3). With
upgraded Weewx to 4.0, I want to start using Python3.
But, when I change to WEEWX_PYTHON=python3 in /etc/default/weewx and
restart service, I get:
May 07 07:45:10 raspberrypi weewx[5830]: File "/usr/share/weewx/weewxd",
line 21, in
May 07 07:45:10 raspberrypi weewx[5830]: import weecfg

May 07 07:45:10 raspberrypi weewx[5830]: import configobj
May 07 07:45:10 raspberrypi weewx[5830]: ImportError: No module named
'configobj'
May 07 07:45:10 raspberrypi weewx[5830]: failed!

I tried to install configobj with "pip install configobj", but I don't have
PIP installed. Should I install PIP and try to install configobj manually?
Or is there any other reason for the error?

Tnx.

[weewx-user] Belchertown skin - skip REPORTS from menu

2020-02-27 Thread Janez Kranjski
I'm preparing a new website with Belchertown skin. It looks very good, but
there are still many things to do (especially when you have to translate
it).
I have two questions:
1. How can I remove REPORTS from the menu bar? I don't want that visitors
have access to it.
2. And minor one - how can I change the color in the RECORDS table? The
light blue is too light ...

Thank you.

[weewx-user] Suggestion how to copy Weewx report from Linux to Windows server without FTP

2019-10-09 Thread Janez Kranjski
Now I use Linux (Raspberry PI) with Weewx installed. Generated reports are
regularly copied with FTP to Windows Server (IIS).
Today our admins told me that they won't support (S)FTP anymore. At first,
I thought about using a new Linux shell in Windows Server, but the server
isn't the latest and it doesn't have Linux support.

Any idea of how to copy results to Windows?

Thanks.

[weewx-user] Save reports to a temporary file system

2018-04-08 Thread Janez Kranjski
After SD card failure, my idea is to change the system to have less writes

Is this (https://github.com/weewx/weewx/wiki/Minimize-writes-on-SD-cards)

AFAIK, I will have to change path */home/weewx* to */etc/weewx* and use
*systemctl

Something else?

Hello!

I change the weather station to Vantage Vue 6250.
Connect everything, restart Raspberry, stop Weewx service, use wee_config

Here are some details which will describe a situation:
1. Log file (DEBUG=1) ... from Weewx:

1.

2. Device info that shows that Raspberry is getting some information:

What is wrong? Weewx doesn't prepare files in /var/www (as before) and
doesn't send files to FTP.
Any help will be appreciated :-)

I have checked and /usr/share/weewx/weewx/drivers (with drivers files)

[weewx-user] Weewx after system restart

2018-03-14 Thread Janez Kranjski

Any idea why after every system restart I get messages where some strange
time/date is used?
I understand that weewx has to sync data from weather station (to get
missing data), but why those strange dates (year 2023 in the picture).

And why this take so long? For example - now is almost half an hour after
restart and weewx still isn't on his usual work.
It was only a restart (some seconds). Usually, it starts working within an
hour.

I have read in User Guide that I can use DEBUG=1 in config file. But in
normal Weewx life, even DEBUG=0 writes many of lines in \var\log\weewx.log.
How to create less lines in this file?
There are two reasons:
- less writings to SD card
- faster checking for what is going on.

[weewx-user] Reading weewx.sdb file with Python program

2017-02-06 Thread Janez Kranjski
Noob question - I copied weewx.sdb file to temp folder on my Linux (so it
is not opened or accessible).
Then I tried simple Python program:

*#!/usr/bin/python*

*import sqlite3 as lite*
*import sys*

*con = lite.connect('weeex.sdb')*

*with con:*
*  cur = con.cursor()*
*  cur.execute("SELECT * FROM archive;")*

*  print(cur.fetchall())*
**

But unfortunately I get an error:
*Traceback (most recent call last):*
*  File "preberi.py", line 10, in *
*cur.execute("SELECT * FROM archive;")*
*sqlite3.OperationalError: no such table: archive *

I can open the same file with SQLiteDatabaseBrowser and I can see records
and tables (also table "archive").

Any idea what is wrong?

[weewx-user] Re: Realtime.txt, realtime.xml and sunbird.txt

2017-01-24 Thread Janez Kranjski
I gave it to my colleague to test. It works, but he has two small remarks:
1. You can omit "date" and "seconds" in SUNBIRD.TXT in fields where
sunrise and sunset are.
So, instead "*2017.01.24 16:54:35*", it can be "*16:54*"

2. You can round off some data in REALTIME.XML.

Otherwise, a big thanks.

[weewx-user] Realtime.txt, realtime.xml and sunbird.txt

2016-12-16 Thread Janez Kranjski
Last week I retired my old laptop with Windows XP and Cumulus.
I bought Raspberry PI, installed Linux (Jessie) and Weewx with my old
Oregon WMR200 weather station.
Almost everything works, but there are (as always) some issues.
On my weather webpage
I have
many visitors and many of them also uses Android phones with Weather
Station for Cumulus App

.
As many of you knows, Cumulus uses three files for some devices
("realtime.txt", "realtime.xml" and "sunbird.txt").

Any idea how to get those files with Weewx?
I tried with Wee Extension named CRT, but it prepares only "realtime.txt"
(as promised also in documentation).
Then I tried with this thread
 from this
forum, but it also don't prepare all three files. To be more specific - it
prepares "realtime.txt" and "sunbird.txt", but not "realtime.xml".
In log file I can see next lines:
cheetahgenerator: Ignoring template
/etc/weewx/skins/Standars/realtime.txt.tmpl
cheetahgenerator: Reason: cannot find 'forecast'
 Trackback (most recent call last):
 File "/usr/share/weewx/weewx/cheetahgenerator.py", line 315, in
generate
 print >> _file, text
 File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dis-packages/Cheetah/Template.py", line 1005,
in __str__
 rc = getattr(self, mainMethName) ()
 File "_etc_weewx_skins_Standars_realtime_txt_tmpl.py", line 85, in
respond
 NotFound: cannot find 'forecast'

Any idea?
Maybe another approach? This second try was from thread which is quite old
(2013) ...

Thank you for your advices.
