I can confirm that using "wee_device --clear-memory" has sorted out the
problem for me. I'm using weewx v3.8.1 on Linux Mint19. Thanks to all who
replied.

I also had the same problem and the dump option failed the 1st time it then
partially worked the 2nd time before failing, 3rd time went a bit further.
Not sure if I tried it 4 or 5 times but it did download everthing in the
end. Im using weewx 3.9.2. Phil

2020-03-29 Thread Jeff A. D.
Use the "dump" option. The dump option does not clear the datalogger so
you still have the data in the logger available if something goes wrong.
If you clear memory you lose the data in the logger.

[weewx-user] Re: weewx 4.0.0b16 stopped working at 02:00 this morning

2020-03-29 Thread Phil Green
Hi Mike,
I think I have tried the dump option before but never had a problem with the
—clear-memory option.
Yes I think you are correct that it is not necessary to run the command at the
adoring equinox. I just happened to wake up at 2.02 this morning! Weewx webpage
was showing the correct 2am time. It’s because the Vantage Vue outputs the time
without any am/pm or dst change. So in the Autumn 1am occurs twice once before
the clocks change and once after. Weewx database can’t cope with that, hence
the need to clear the Vantage Vue built in buffer.
You probably already know this.
Regards
Phil

Thanks Phil,

Never had to do it for the spring clock change before though.

Do you know what the difference between dump and clear memory is?

Because of DST coming into play at 2am I stop Weewx and ran
wee_device —clear-memory
Then restart Weewx
I have to do this in autumn too when the clocks change again.
Seems to work for me every time change.
I am running Vantage Vue with Weewx 3.9.2
