Yes, I'm getting spam originating from the list, too. Spam?
Is it my weird setup, or has spam reemerged on this list? If others are seeing the spams that seem to originate from the list, I'll try to contact the admins.

14 MB of Spam
OK, that does it. I usually don't complain much about spam and simply deal with it. But blocking my dial-up with 20 spam-mails with >700k attachments each only happens on this very list. If whoever in charge isn't able or doesn't want to do something about it, isn't it time to migrate to another provider with the list, even free ones like yahoogroups or whatever? Compared to here they're spam-free and there are digest modes if you don't want attachments at all. -- Brix

How about leaving the headers from the spam messages?

spam on list
The amount of spam I get daily since I joined this list has doubled, most of it coming from the list itself. Ezmlm doesn't set up messages in such a way that SpamCop can filter out the real sender and deal with it. I keep seeing the same spammers hitting the list multiple times. Can't somebody with admin privs on the list machine get some filtering software in place, and start reporting each and every one of these piece-of-shit spammers? I want to follow along on the development track, and the web mirrors of the list are useless (one of them seems to save nothing but the spam), but the annoyance factor is getting really high. David VanHorn <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: > > Is anyone else getting this junk, with the wget servers as the intermediary? Yes. As has been stated clearly, the sunsite.[auc.]dk issue and the existence of the [EMAIL PROTECTED] forward means that the list-address-must-be-in-to-or-cc SPAM protection has been turned off for wget and wget-patches. Since wget-patches is a less general-interest list than wget, it should be no problem to get it moved over to @sunsite.dk (if it wasn't already -- I don't remember) and get the SPAM protection turned on. To be able to do that with wget we'll have to inconvenience a larger base and we'll have to start handling the bug-wget address differently, like having it send to a person or people whose responsibility it'd become to forward on to the list. Of course even with all that in place, you'll still get SPAM from the list, since Hrvoje wants it to be postable by non-subscribers. Personally, I much prefer subscriber-only lists, as they get rid of ambiguities of whether or not people are subscribed to the list, and people aren't SPAMmed with so many duplicate copies of emails (sent in case they aren't list subscribers). --- Dan Harkless| To help prevent SPAM contamination, GNU Wget co-maintainer | please do not mention this email http://sunsite.dk/wget/ | address in Usenet posts -- thank you.
