wget does not recognize @import() and url()

2005-10-19 Thread Olav Mørkrid
this one was a bit unclear, i guess the point is that wget does not
recognize these styles at all, so it has nothing to do with -k option.

anyway, does anyone have plans to support these styles? is there
anywhere else than the list i could post suggestions?

using wget 1.10 on win32:

wget -kpxHE -Dwikimedia.org http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%ADctor_Jara

problem: -k option does relocate these, and files are not downloaded:

  @import (/css/style.css)
  background-image: url(/images/image.png) !-- eg. wikipedia logo --

NOTE: % must be doubled (%%) if running from a win32 batch file

i'd appreciate if someone could advise me on this issue, or fix the bug.

yes. this is CSS and wget does not support it at the moment.

IIRC, hrvoje was interested in adding CSS support to the wget HTML parser.

BTW, wget 2.0 will definitely support external URL parsers, so it will
be possible to write a smarter HTML parser that understands CSS as well
as a wget plugin.
