As FT2 points out, the Oversight tool has functionality that isnt included in
RevisionDelete. I would like to see that fixed, otherwise the SOP methods of
dealing with some issues will not be possible.

Per Mike - most CU checks on non en wp wikis are pretty straightforward -
multiple reasons are (IMO) unecessary. However I fully agree that there should
be a reason - I consider those who do not leave a reason very unhelpful to
their fellow CUs.

Patch to Pager.php, against r49962

I'm currently plugging away at formatting Special:Allmessages using the
TablePager class, from Pager.php. In order to avoid some horrible hacks
(returning a value of foo rowspan=2 to fill into something like td
class=$class)
I'm surprised that that even works: it's a sanitization bug.

Any sane implementation will have a from= parameter such that only results on
or after the timestamp in from= are listed. If the client keeps track of the
timestamp of the last edit it received, it can use this to get all results
(common RSS clients don't actually do this, AFAIK, but it should be possible).
*Never*, *ever*, should the cutoff time be based on cookie or login age; nobody
suggested that BTW.

You mean the hack? TBH I didn't actually try it, I knew what I needed and what

in CodeReview was right, the function wasn't particularly accessible. The
positioning of the $this-mCurrentRow=$row; line is just stupid.

Or do you mean the patch? :-S

No, I meant the HTML injection hack. I hadn't even looked at the patch yet. Now
that I have:

$td = Xml::openElement( 'td', $this-getCellAttrs($field,$value) );
$s .= $td $formatted /td;

You should simply use:

$s .= Xml::element( 'td', $this-getCellAttrs( $field, $value ), $formatted );

(or Xml::tags() if $formatted contains HTML and should not be escaped; I
couldn't tell from the patch).

return array( 'class' = htmlspecialchars( $this-getRowClass( $row ) ) );

You don't need to (and shouldn't) use htmlspecialchars() here: the Xml::
functions will handle proper escaping. This way, you'll probably end up
double-escaping stuff. The same applies to getCellAttrs().

I tried the first method and got PHP's version of a compile error (unexpected
character on the last line); I'm not sure either why it didn't work ($formatted
could in principle contain raw HTML, but would that really *kill* the

My fragment looks correct, I'm not sure your error is related. Please try
again, as your current patch still doesn't use Xml::element() or Xml::tags() on
that line.

($formatted

program?); but doing it that way definitely did fix it.

No, but it would show the HTML as text in the browser rather than actually
treating it as HTML, so you'd have a bug in case $formatted is *supposed* to
contain HTML.

Any sane implementation will have a from= parameter such that only results on
or after the timestamp in from= are listed. If the client keeps track of the
timestamp of the last edit it received, it can use this to get all results

The watch list has (the watched pages have) last visited timestamps (for each
user), thus no client action is needed.

of backups.
I believe this solution would also offer easy notification of successes /
failures and enable us to have the dashboard Tomasz mentioned.
Also 'waiting' on storage to be available, which should theoretically arrive
once I have had enough time to work through Amanda's configuration setup.
More to come!

It seems like this issue was somewhat isolated and is not occurring anymore.
Will re-open ticket if it happens again.

What is driving me bananas is when somebody puts a long string of
unbroken (z...) (or broken but inside a pre) text in a comment.

This in turn takes the whole
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:Code/MediaWiki/comments
table along with it.

To reproduce, make a comment with a thousand line string of A's.
Then browse
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:Code/MediaWiki/comments
Note how everybody else's comments now don't fit in the browser, and
you must horizontally scroll back and forth to see each one in entirety.

May be a separate bug...

Hi,
Thanks for you attention, I have used this hook for my custom extension, here
goes the reference link:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Hooks/EditFilter

If you set some $error, the page will not save and stay in edit mode. But as I
told you before I want to stay 'Edit with form' mode because I start with this
mode not in 'Edit' mode.

Thanks

I have added a new group called autopatroller and given sysops the ability to
grant and revoke it (identical to the patroller group.)

The patroller group had the right of autopatrol, patrol, and now rollback. The
autopatroller group just has autopatrol, per the above request. This change is
now live.

I have gone ahead and added the talk for wikipedia talk on the mtwiki. I did
not see any settings for it before, so it was just non-localized defaults.

I added the namespace for Portal and Portal Talk as requested above. However,
what do you mean by Project?

I have Wikipedija as the project name and Diskussjoni Wikipedija as the project
talk. So you really want Proġett as an alias to Wikipedija and not as a new
namespace correct?

I have pushed all but that last question live.

There's no need for an internal class; it was discarded years ago as a waste
of space. Internalness is the default state of a link that's not specified as
something else.

If there is any need to mark internal interwikis distinctly, this would
likely be with an additional class; there would be no particular relation
between interwikis and in-wiki links.

I'd think that marking *external* interwikis would be the more logical
approach. I see what you mean about internal being redundant. So I guess
this is all we need:

*internal link -- a
*interwiki link-- a class=extiw
*inline interlanguage -- a class=extiw
*external interwiki -- a class=external extiw

The aforementioned poll for a two-month trial implementation of
Wikipedia:Flagged protection and patrolled revisions closed with 259
supports, 61 opposes and 4 neutrals, and we had enough time to discuss the
configuration and policy details. So I reopen the bug.

The implementation details are at [[Wikipedia:Flagged protection and patrolled

We had a small poll on autopromotion for reviewers, [[Wikipedia

autopromotion.

Any program that changes the filesystem must consider that it is not
alone.

In the following patch, we apply the lessons learned from
maintenance/generateSitemap.php .

Any less would spell disaster for
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Wiki_family users.

As far as shared hosting situations that offer a mediawiki package
where there is actually only one copy for everybody, there still is
the worry that two users wfWikiID()'s might collide, but that is the
host's fault, not ours.

Since the fix is disputed in CodeReview and has not been deployed, I'm
re-opening this for now.

r49068 probably needs backporting, and it needs to be verified that there are
no filesorts remaining from this feature.

--- Comment #2 from Splarka h...@goldrush.com 2009-04-30 04:25:55 UTC ---
More backport candidates:
r49775 Fix XSS.
r48993 Fix regression whereby you were shown an error message after submitting
GlobalGroupMembership form
r48909 and r48910 Revert r48746 (API userrights). Breaks
Special:GlobalGroupMembership by changing overridden methods to static methods,
which cannot be overridden. Also reverts r48747, r48814, r48778, r48775 -
possibly Wikimedia-Centric?
r48836 Follow up on r48015, fix a bug which caused 'A' and 'D' won't work.

Ask Aaron (possibly mostly useful for Wikimedia?) if these should be
backported:
r49730 fix silly typo
r49685 * Fixed unblocking of hidden names (bug 18543) * Added permission
check
r49222 Automatically hide RC log items on block too
r49191 setUsernameBitfields() should skip suppress log itemsr48993 Fix
regression whereby you were shown an error message after submitting
GlobalGroupMembership form
r48899 updated static $this to self:: reference in static fetchURL function
Note also: r48827 r48828 r48886 r49192 r49210 and other changes to these files
between 1.15 branch (48811) and 49775 (which was the latest live merge for this
issue...? ug, messy)

Also, immediately after the last scap to 48811, brion had to sync
/extensions/Collection/ /extensions/ProofreadPage/
/includes/api/ApiQueryImageInfo.php /includes/specials/SpecialUserrights.php
/extensions/FlaggedRevs/FlaggedRevs.hooks.php and several other things (to
around r48831 or so) to fix immediate fatal errors. See

I think the revision I found is most consistent with Wikimedia's current state
is about r48825.
