Once you upload your file, release rights, then get to describe. If you put a ]
in the categories input box invokes the error "data.query" is undefined
you should ( of course ) check properties before assuming success. ie: instead
of line 135 of jquery.mwCoolCats.js

}
There are several other places in the code base where you make assignments of
decedent properties without checking for their existence, these should be
fixed.

The problem occurs in getParameterFromSettings(), which is a method of the ApiBase class. The ApiQueryWatchlist class (which implements the RSS feeds for WatchLists) extends the ApiQueryGeneratorBase class, which extends the ApiQueryBase class, which extends the ApiBase class. The getParameterFromSettings() method in ApiQueryWatchlist comes directly through this class hierarchy from ApiBase. It seems clear that getParameterFromSettings() should be overridden in ApiQueryWatchlist and the switch case code for 'timestamp' modified to return the database formated value. However, there is a lot of code in getParameterFromSettings() that would be duplicated if the whole method is copied to ApiQueryWatchlist and then modified. This would introduce significant and unnecessary maintenance burden. So my guess is to use one of two other possibilities, which are: + Pull out the switch statement in getParameterFromSettings() into a separate protected method. Only this method need be overridden in ApiQueryWatchlist. + Add a parameter to getParameterFromSettings() that instructs it not to convert timestamps into TS_MW format. The former possibility seems the best from an architectural point of view, but requires the largest code change. The latter possibility requires the least amount of change to the code, but is dirtier. I need some guidance from someone (an MW architect? Does anyone have that title in this open source project?) about the best way to proceed. That seems due to the timeout set when readding the event. Readding the event
without timeout when on_client EV_TIMEOUT fixes the problem. However, it
still reads after a normal timeout, which is odd. send_client() not only
sends the message, it also readds the event.
Fixed in r84560.

The translations of MediaWiki messages for many languages are not complete.
When the translation is not complete, messages are displayed in the fallback
language (often English), in the same font, same color and same size. If the
user knows the fallback language well, he may hardly notice this, although he
is the one who can translate the message.
It's possible to encourage users to complete the translation. One way to do it
is to put a link saying something like "translate this message" near every
untranslated message. The link should point directly to the message page in
translatewiki.net, the de-facto MediaWiki translation website. Yes, this will
put a lot of those links on the wiki and this may be ugly, but the users can
get rid of them by completing the translation, which they should do anyway.
This link must be also displayed for outdated or broken ("!!FUZZY!!") messages,
and for extensions messages and not just the core.
This is not just a way to encourage people to complete their translations. It
will be actually easier to translate the software this way, because then the
message is seen in context and not in a dry list of strings, as it is in
TranslateWiki now.
One problem with this approach is that the translation is not updated
immediately. It's not terrible, because the way things work now, it will be
updated after a few days, but if someone has a clever way to fix that, it would
be nice.
Another problem is text in special areas such as buttons, links and input box
boilerplate (for example, the word "Search" in the Vector search box). But that
can be handled somehow.
People who like to improve translation may also get the opportunity to enable
such a link for all messages, even translated ones. Something like this exists
on Facebook; it sucks there, but who said we can't do better?

Also, "Possibility to list pages only categorized in hidden categories" and "My proposal would create a list of *all* articles encyclopedically uncategorized" are not the same. I assume you want the later, which makes the most sense. The former would give pages not in encyclopedic categories but that *are in* hidden categories. One problem is that the query is cached. It would need two sets of querycache rows, one for both options.
