[Bug 21919] Write and implement Google News SiteMaps (GNSM) extension for Wikinews
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21919 --- Comment #60 from Bawolff bawolff...@gmail.com 2011-05-02 06:20:06 UTC --- Ok, there was some serious issues with how it did flagged revs (As in did a db error/otherwise didn't work), but I believe i fixed them in r87236. They appear to have been in the extension since the get go, so I guess I somehow managed to never test the flagged revs part of this extension until now :s. Whoops. On a related note, the extension won't recognize that the cache (the part stored in $wgMemc that lasts 12 hours) is outdated if a page can suddenly be included because it suddenly got sighted (or if it got all revisions unsighted). I do not think this is a significant issue for Wikinews since any change in sighting also involves adding (respectively removing) category:Published to the article. And if in doubt the extension respects ?action=purge. However it could probably be addressed by storing and checking how many articles are sighted in namespace X (which i believe is stored somewhere in the db since its shown on special:validationStatistics), similar to what it does for categories currently. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 27698] Toolbar in editor sometimes overlaps edit box
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27698 Salvatore Ingala salvatore.ing...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||salvatore.ing...@gmail.com --- Comment #6 from Salvatore Ingala salvatore.ing...@gmail.com 2011-05-02 10:40:43 UTC --- The problem is similar to one I once had while writing some toolbar customization code; in fact, there is some toolbar customization in http://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Edittoolbar.js, which is imported in Common.js. The reason it's hard to reproduce is that this may depends on the exact time when the toolbar customization code is called. But it's easy to reproduce the bug by adding things after the page is completely loaded (for example, by using a javascript console to add enough buttons and group to make the toolbar grow vertically). The fact is that the code of addToToolbar (in jquery.wikiEditor.toolbar.js) only bothers of changing the height of the toolbar's div.sections only when a new section is added, and not when groups or buttons are added to existing sections. In fact the problem is not going to happen if a new section is created with all groups and buttons in bulk, in a single call to the addToToolbar function. While adding things in bulk is better (and I think it's going to solve the problem in this particular instance), adding objects to existing sections is allowed (and it's the documented way: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:WikiEditor/Toolbar_customization), so a solution is needed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 28725] email entry field: valid/invalid feedback
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28725 Krinkle krinklem...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution||FIXED --- Comment #1 from Krinkle krinklem...@gmail.com 2011-05-02 18:19:37 UTC --- (In reply to comment #0) When filling out the email field, the field turns red or green depending on whether, at any given point in time, it looks like the email is valid for example, if I'm typing myem...@address.com and pause at myemail, the field turns red. the issue with this behavior is that the user is told they're doing something wrong before they've completed the action. This has been observed on Chrome 10/OSX. Can you please verify this against current trunk HEAD ? I very specifically bound the validation function to once('blur') and within that on keyup, which means: * When typing in an emailadres it won't mark it was invalid/red or valid/green the first time you enter it (ie. the first and in possibly only attempt). Instead it will do the first validation after you leave the emailaddres field (when you've completed the first attempt). At this point the field will either turn red or green. If and when the address field is adjusted after the first validation, it will validate after each key change. Green scenario: * User rates page, enters emailaddress, presses tab or whatever, sees mailaddress is ok (turns green), submits form. Red-then-green scenario: * User rates page, enters emailaddress, presses tab or whatever, sees mailaddress is invalid (turns red), user goes back and fixes it. After every key press the field is re-evaluated, it will stay red untill it's valid. When it is it turns green. User submits form. - Tested in Firefox 4 and Safari 5 on OS X. If you see that the field is turning red before finishing initial filling of the field, please re-open this bug. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

We would probably want use an iframe html like youtube and the current mwEmbed gadget based video sharing works. The main reason for this is you need javascript support code for the embed players to work. [Bug 28782] New: UploadWizard: thumbnails on live Commons often missing; duplicate fetches of same thumbnail
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28782 Bug #: 28782 Summary: UploadWizard: thumbnails on live Commons often missing; duplicate fetches of same thumbnail Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: UploadWizard AssignedTo: ne...@wikimedia.org ReportedBy: ne...@wikimedia.org CC: asha...@wikimedia.org Classification: Unclassified Live Commons often is slow to generate thumbnails due to thumbnail server overloading, or because the generation occurs in a shelled-out process. Our stashImageInfo calls only return the URLs of where the thumbnails are *supposed* to be. It doesn't mean these URLs won't return errors for some amount of time. The result is that thumbnails are not ready when they are asked for, resulting in 404 errors. These errors are then cached within UploadWizard. Related: we also fetch the same thumbnail (same specifications) too many times. If we want the same thumbnail on two different pages it gets fetched twice. The solution is to use a mini publish-and-subscribe system within the UploadWizard, that checks for the availability of thumbnails and then updates the interface when they are ready. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28690 --- Comment #3 from Ryan Kaldari rkald...@wikimedia.org 2011-05-02 20:19:59 UTC --- It looks like the border issue might be a bit deeper than I thought. We're actually removing the border around all jQuery UI elements, not just dialogs. This seems to be an actual design choice (rather than an oversight), but probably needs to be rethought. Simply adding the border back isn't good since we're also removing the padding, so this could cause stacked borders. A temporary workaround you could use would be to set the dialog to be modal. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
