In fact they have changed their titles to different characters. I use the Bulgarian version of MediaWiki. It certainly confused me! I inserted some {{clear}} tags in a Wikipedia article
by editing the whole document

Since that import, I touched a couple of pages (guess which?) and discovered this problem with the site map. Most cannot, and say, this is something for experts, not for me. Many cannot even make a distinction between upload and download (I do not move images or audio or video over the internet because that is illegal and I shall be punished, if I do. The papers are full of it!) We loose many potential uploaders because of their inability to deal with licensing stuff and other legel issues, and we are being percieved as arrogant when we want them to make decisions they simply cannot. Added about 250 articles and then tried to download as PDF - at some point it gave me some sort of error (didn't write it down) so I quit Wiki, thinking - it's OK, I may try tomorrow again. And how surprised i was when today there is not a single article saved. Read through Help and according to it I have to have a save button. Well, I don't have one. And now I don't know why is my yesterday book missing. It is strange, because in the Help instructions there are plenty of pictures and red marker written instructions how one can create and format a book, but not a single picture of the Save book button. If necessary I can provide an image of my Book creator main page. There are few languages being written in multiple scripts, about 3 of which we support that offer a choice of scripts of different directionality. At least 3 more will become available with the upcoming support of top-to-bottom scripts in browsers. I am not amending the message rightaway, so as to possibly get feedback, since for the vast majority of users and languages, there is only 1 script per language, and thus directionality is a function of their language for them, while they are likely not aware of the fact, that this is indirect. Also, users except those choosing one of the few abovementioned languages at least once in a while, do not actively choose a script, they rather select a language. On Commons, it has the MediaWiki title File:Lange-MigrantMother02.jpg. There has never been any suggestion on Commons or any other Wikimedia site that the MediaWiki Title is the title that the author gave to the work, nor are we asserting that others should refer to the work in that way. This is just an identifier for software primarily, and humans secondarily. And in this case, Migrant Mother is not even the real title of the work, it's just the commonly known name. The official title is Destitute pea pickers in California. Mother of seven children. Age thirty-two. Nipomo, California. Finally all works within Wikimedia Commons have to be licensed in such a way as to allow for derivative works, which would explicitly include retitling the work. It looks like jsmin+'s parser is indeed legit per description at http://crisp.tweakblogs.net/blog/1665/a-new-javascript-minifier-jsmin+.html -- that's a good catch, paul! On quick peek, looks like it's got a standalone JSParser class that produces a parse tree (and throws exceptions on parse error) which could be called explicitly, or simply used via the JSMinPlus class which calls through to the parser, then flattens the parse tree into minified source. License is... MPL 1.1/GPL 2.0/LGPL 2.1 so it should be fine to integrate into MediaWiki (yay!) It's probably worth comparing jsmin+'s minification qualities to our current home-grown minifier; it sounds like just swapping to jsmin+ as a minifier might be more robust (since it should be able to detect a JavaScript parse failure and throw an error that lets us skip the bad file) but we could also use just the parser as a verifier. If nothing else, I'd strongly recommend grabbing it and using it for the minification unit tests (to verify that minified source parses correctly). This quick patch adds jsminplus.php into libs/, makes it and its JSParser
available via autoloader, and calls the parser on post-minified JS bits in
JavaScriptMinifierTest.
