The community didn't like the font and very soon the logo was changed and hard-coded in Common.css. You can find the de facto logo at link [1]. This logo has the Hebrew Wikipedia consensus and is in accordance with the logo guidelines [2]. Please replace the files so that the Common.css hack wouldn't be needed. When comparing two revisions on Special:ComparePages the JavaScript variable
wgAction (or mw.config.get('wgAction')) is empty:

The body class action-view is set correctly. When you are on
Special:ComparePages without parameters, alert(wgAction) shows view as
expected. I can reproduce this only on trunk, 1.17 shows view in any case.

On long-lasting wikis, verification might have been 5-10 years ago. The aim of this bug is to make user rights dependent on a verified email address *on an ongoing basis*. So for example if the user removes the email address, or replaces it with another but doesn't verify it, the user rights associated with their user group are automatically suspended, until a verified email address is provided, when they're automatically re-enabled. This would be more useful if there are situations where the verified status of an existing email address can be automatically revoked (eg if emails to the user bounce); I'm not sure if that's the case but if it isn't that's a separate issue. I should note that this bug is partly because of a desire to use email notifications to enhance security, which is obviously dependent on a current email address. (A verified email address may not be current, but it's the best proxy available at the moment.) Sometimes, it is useful, to revert the effect of nowiki.../nowiki having
been used on, or inside, a template parameter. Example:

|Anzeige = '''Fett''' oder ''kursiv''

There would be no need to enter the same code sequence twice.
Other applications can be thought of when wiki syntax elements
such as [ [[ {{ | including positional ones like {| |- | # etc.
are to be passed as parts of parameters being subject to
parser function testing and branching, but in the end are to
be interpreted in their wiki-syntactic meaning.
Naming suggestions:
onwiki.../onwiki or wikion.../wikion or wiki.../wiki
Maybe onwiki is visually too close to nowiki ?

In all other php files there is documentation for all public (and even most private) methods. For SpecialCollabWatchlist.php the undocumented methods are just internal helper methods to structure the code. However, I have added that documentation to SpecialCollabWatchlist.php. For the coding style, the major guidelines are all used. Tabs for indentation and alignment, Encoding, curly braces at the correct place etc. I could only spot several glitches regarding spaces between parenthesis. I'd assume those are not showstoppers :-). Those only major problem remaining are the MySQL 4 incompatible SQL statements you have mentioned. Could you please elaborate on that. I need to know which type of query is affected and why and which version of MySQL we need to support. I have tried to find that information on wikimedia.org, but only found [1], which points to a custom version of MySQL. The mysql4 issue is subqueries
ie SELECT * FROM bar where foo in ( SELECT * FROM foo )
Although most of the cluster has been upgraded, from memory we do still have
some machines still running MySQL 4 still.
For the JS, I could find no reference to it being included (and hence loaded)
anywhere in your files.

As per above, you should be using the ResourceLoader to load it, and then get
it added onto the pages when you want it. Minification, and such gets done for
you, and makes it nicer to be loaded into MediaWiki

You don't have to rewrite it, but we'd just have to be careful enabling the extension (if reviewed to be otherwise ok) on wikis with still 4.1 in the cluster. Those are more likely to go away when we've got EQIAD up, and have extra database capacity so we can finish the upgrades. I thought we had some documentation about this, but seemingly not. Quick checking around, it seems the dewiki (s5) cluster (at least) has a mysql4 master. It is more likely that all slaves are on mysql 5.1, as they can work with older mysql masters. I believe this is most likely to apply to occasional editors attempting to become more regular editors; an important group according to the strategic plan. * User attempts to log in. Remembers username, but not password. * User makes 3 failed attempts to guess the password. * User clicks forgot password and has a new, temporary password emailed to her. * User enters temporary password, and is prompted to choose a new password. * Upon entering new password, user is informed that she cannot log in right now, because of too many recent failed attempts. I can imagine several general ways to resolve this, but it's not my expertise. I would recommend getting input from a user interface design expert before addressing the issue. There are two: (1) The editor is not made aware of the consequences of entering an incorrect password too many times. If she knew that the limit was 3 (?), she might have chosen not to guess, but to go to the password reset tool sooner. (2) Once the process is complete, the user is not informed how long to wait, but merely that she has to come back later. Maybe one part that worries you is the code for pages with talk content that are moved into a namespace without a talkspace. One conservative approach -- what I would recommend -- is to abort the rename until the user first (manually) deletes the talkspace page. In terms of the need for this, let me be more clear. I am building a series of wikis which use namespaces very extensively, as in the high hundreds each. These namespaces equate to types of wikipage, eg Person is a namespace that contains only pages for individuals, with its own security profile. This design allows my software to quickly ascertain the type of a page, far faster and better than crawling among multiple folksonomic categories for a page. What is the impact of forcing a talkspace for every custom namespace? By doubling the number of namespaces, it clogs up the user interface, slows performance and hampers user training, but most important it can frustrate designers' ability to implement talkspaces differently than MW does. What's so bad about that? LQT is coming with a release that works in ANY namespace, and SMWHalo's Collaboration puts talk (more conveniently) after article content, not mentioning another 24 packages (see mw:Category:Discussion_and_forum_extensions). So the need to me is clear, to help wikis creatively use custom namespaces -- as custom namespaces are critical/central functionality in MW. I understand Roan, We all are proud of our Developer team of Wikimedia Foundation.I know you all have lots of stuff to be performed on servers etc..But all our expectations are from developers side only that they would support us and make our problem easy.I think we are getting enough support from our Developer team.We shall rather wait to deploy risky extensions. I haven't been able to reproduce this problem locally at all, even with the deployment branch, so I'm not sure what's causing it. I know the local SiteNotice used to be handled by GlobalFunctions.php (although this has changed on trunk). The problem is that if you search for allocation across all Wikipedias, for example, you could get 89,280 different results (372 languages x 240 countries). Obviously we don't want to output 89,280 separate tables. Oh, dear. You mean having such an important bug fix not being deployed for _half a year_ would be an acceptable explanation? Never mind, all bug fixes I know about _have_ been deployed and http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/branches/wmf/1.17wmf1/RELEASE-NOTES?view=markup lists bug 27700 as fixed. And testing the behavior on the current trunk yields still the same problem. I don’t want to dig into the overcomplicated code, but patching Title::checkActionPermissions so that the “$action == 'create'” test tests also for “$action == 'createpage'” seems to fix the problem (not saying this is a correct fix, just pointing to the problem).
