Tim manually fixed the situation apparently, so the effects of this bug shouldn't be still happening, but we need a proper fix in place so this won't happen again in the future. The cgroup issue is recurring (https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/83067/ was the latest attempt to fix it) and we've yet to found an optimal solution. When they hit enter the entity suggester has not shown any result yet. Because of this they get redirected to the search page. The search page gives a much worse experience than the entity suggester. People shouldn't be redirected to the search page unless they explicitly select that in the entity suggester itself. Hope that is clearer. You can do FOR UPDATE OF mytable, which will only lock that table. Hmm, no. FOR UPDATE OF isn't a postgres extension, but a part SQL which mysql doesn't implement fully (SQL:2003 14.1.). Short-term, we could change ParsoidUtils to again call Parsoid's form-based interfaces for manual testing. In the longer run, we'll need Parsoid to provide another endpoint (see below). I'm indifferent to whether Flow calls it directly or via VE's API.
