Dogfooding an internal API is going to be especially important if we want to test variants concurrently. Unfortunately the TeX system has not very good support of non ASCII characters.
It's the same problem with the German 'umlauts' öäü. In all math environments
that I tried I had to use \text{ü} instead of ü.
So I think we have to cope with that as well. Maybe we can come up with an
interface for easy editing with visual editor one day.
MathJaX can convert the samples if \text is used to MathML but not to SVG.
