Catchable fatal error: Argument 3 passed to BetaFeaturesHooks::getBetaFeaturesLink() must be an instance of SkinTemplate, none given in my-mw-path/extensions/BetaFeatures/BetaFeaturesHooks.php on line 317 It happens with REL1_23 and mediawiki/REL1_23 . It doesn't happen with REL1_22 and mediawiki/REL1_23. It doesn't happen with master and mediawiki/master. It appears to be a small change which mediawiki/REL1_23 is not ready for, but mediawiki/master. Reverting the change works. As I said in bug 46336 comment 3, the tabindex was set automatically (with JavaScript) determining the highest tabindex on the page, which managed to work well unless form fields were added dynamically to the page with hardcoded tabindex, as was the problem with LQT. Now, the hardcoded tabindex=1 of the search caused the problem in bug 46336 to not be specific of LQT, but to all forms that set up tabindex on the page, whether form fields are added dynamically to the page or not, causing more problems that it was trying to solve. Nope. tabindex=0 is used on elements that normally aren't focusable (like a span), to make them focusable when navigating through tabs, while respecting the normal tab order in the document. Only numbers greater than 0 work for specify a priority in the tab order (tabindex 0 is the default for focusable elements). What it could be done, is to use the same tabindex in all elements where the tab order matches the order where they're present in the HTML, like the edit form and such. However there's a learning curve to get it right and find what you are looking for; especially if you are just someone who wants to fix minor issues and mistakes. Relation to the Mission and what others are doing: Having a threshold for contributors is against WMF's mission. At least some teams believe so, thus they are changing colors of buttons and made the register account button larger - as a result of some heavy studies. Feature request: The suggestion is to have a tool for a quick typo correction while reading; e.g. make the extension output some hidden boundaries with the HTML and have a JS click-handler to allow editing single translation units while merely reading without the fully-blown translate UI. The problem is that these scripts, and many others, instantiate a pagegenerators.py class GeneratorFactory before calling pywikibot.handleArgs(). handleArgs is where the command line family lang are parsed and set up. GeneratorFactory instantiates a default site object in the constructor, which means handleArgs must be completed prior to instantiating the GeneratorFactory. If your user-config.py was defaulted to wikidatawiki, the generator factory would create generators against wikidatawiki. It looks like this regression was caused by bug 54540 / https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/112436/ Before that change, a default site object was instantiated for each argument that the GeneratorFactory parsed. There are three ways I can see to fix this: 1. the GeneratorFactory obtains a default site object for each argument again, if a site object wasnt provided in the constructor 2. change all the scripts to call pywikibot.handleArgs() before instantiating a GeneratorFactory. (i.e. same as delete.py) 3. bot.handleArgs is called transparently from the GeneratorFactory constructor, or the Site constructor, with nonGlobalArgs cached to be later processed when bot.handleArgs is called a second time. Note that there has been the possibility of pagegenerators pulling in pages from multiple wikis using args: ... -family:wikipedia -lang:nl -transcludes:'Taxobox' -lang:en -transcludes:'Taxobox' However it also means the following are not identical: ... -family:wikipedia -lang:nl -transcludes:'Taxobox' ... -transcludes:'Taxobox' -lang:en -family:wikipedia option 2 3 above would prevent that hack from working, but would mean the order of global arguments is not important. option 3 makes the global arguments effective in any script which doesnt currently call handleArgs. There are no scripts in core that this would apply to, but scripts in the wild may break as a result if they have 're-purposed' a global argument name. (the three scripts in core which dont call handleArgs also dont use page generators). Option 2 looks to be the most efficient and best at self-documenting code. I suspect this to be the reason for verifyPartialFile to reject chunks as invalidxml, but ultimately am not 100% sure: Shouldn't a test on well-formed-ness of XML be always done on the stashed (complete) file rather than on the chunks? This test for wellformedness within the scope of verifyPartialFile has been introduced by bug 58553, maybe regression!? We should probably enable red links by default and configure it for Wikimedia wikis to be disabled. It seems to punish 3rd party users by not giving them the chance. Apart from the LocalSettings.php file I didn't edit any files. Its a modification we made to librsvg (If your browser fetchs external images, that's its bussiness, but if WMF servers are fetching arbitrary things, that opens up some issues that are slightly scary security wise. Since 99% of the time svgs don't really need that sort of feature anyways, we disabled it). As of now there is no way to bring this image to Commons, but there was: before bug 58553 got fixed. Until this issue is resolved, try uploading the file with [[commons:Special:Upload]].
