As the title says, a grid-view like Special:NewFiles is in MediaWiki 1.18.
So, what is needed is merging the existing code from Special:NewFiles into
Special:ListFiles, using the parameter style described in bug 30608
Motivation: Support users in showing a gallery of their own recent files
embedded in their user page, to motivate participation.
Background: Special:NewFiles can show the gallery, but is not embeddable.
Discussion in bug 30522 concluded that rather than adding embedding to
Special:NewFiles, the whole code should be merged into Special:ListFiles,
ultimately making Special:NewFiles a synonym of Special:ListFiles.
