Emails being marked as spam by one of the largest email providers is definitely not low priority, nor is it an enhancement request. Might require talking to some people from Google to see what they recommend doing. Or see what other open source projects do to work around this, as MW isn't the only one that sends automated emails like this. Funny, I've never once had my account creation e-mails (WMF or otherwise) ever marked as spam by Gmail or any other provider for that matter.
