[Bug 53387] "Fixes-Bug" keyword in Git commit message that will cause a bug report to automatically be marked FIXED in Bugzilla
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53387 --- Comment #3 from Matthew Flaschen --- (In reply to comment #1) > > Determining whether a bug is resolved by a particular > > changeset can be difficult, even for experienced humans. > > I fully agree. And that's why I'm suggesting humans explicitly write "Fixes-Bug" in their commit message, when applicable. > > I can't say I'm a huge fan of the idea of having two very similar keywords. > > I > > think it will create confusion. > > I fully agree here as well. I don't think it's that confusing. We're talking about two keywords, and the one that marks it fixed has the word "Fixes" in the message. [Bug 45584] WikiExporter is causing replication issues
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45584 --- Comment #6 from Ariel T. Glenn --- Not tampa slaves, as this production service has now moved to eqiad (September is the deadline for all production services, iirc). The longest running dump is a toss-up between en wp and de wp, 12 days or so for en wp and I don't know yet for de wiki as it's set up now. I'm definitely interested in looking into this possibility. Dumps are run automatically on a rolling basis so I'm not sure how we'd handle depooling slaves unless there were one dedicated from each cluster dedicated for this purpose, except for en wp where it would be depooled only the two weeks we run. [Bug 41961] Write redirect rules for GitBlit
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41961 sp...@wikimedia.org changed: What|Removed |Added CC||christ...@quelltextlich.at --- Comment #18 from sp...@wikimedia.org --- (In reply to comment #17) gitblit required '/' in project paths be changed to %2F, so my Apache mod_rewrite rules triggered URL-encoding. This worked for a while, but now the %2F is getting URL-encoded a second time which turns the '%' into %25, and gitblit chokes on the resulting %25%2f. I suspect Christian Aistleitner's puppet commit f5a3b40b on Jun 29, which changed AllowEncodedSlashes from NoDecode to On, probably caused the break. (Despite my copious comments as to why it needs to be that way :-) .) I notice gitblit's own URLs to summaries are much simpler now, instead of the URL-encoded slashes after summary it is just http://git.wikimedia.org/summary/?r=mediawiki/core.git That's probably simpler to implement in an Apache mod_rewrite rule rather than this fragile setup of URL-encoding exactly once. I don't know if there's a simpler format for linking to a file within a project, the same rewrite rules also used to rewrite to https://git.wikimedia.org/raw/mediawiki%2fextensions%2fexamples.git/HEAD/BoilerPlate%2fREADME which now has %25%2f s and is likewise broken. [Bug 53259] Add Forward Secrecy
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53259 --- Comment #2 from Seb35 --- The blog post [1] explains the "forward secrecy" property only adds a +15% in CPU load for ECDHE ciphers, but +300% for simple DHE ciphers. Probably the Operations team should carefully review this bug before activating it for performance reasons. Nowadays only Chromium and Firefox support FS, Opera only supports DHE ciphers and Internet Explorer don’t support FS; I don’t know for Safari. This other blog post [2] (and blog) explains how Google configured FS: why they chosed ECDHE (this performance reason) and how they configured session tickets. [Bug 53522] REGRESSION : Flickr upload from the UploadWizard shows file input
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53522 --- Comment #4 from Rainer Rillke @commons.wikimedia --- For clarification, there are 3 issues involved: 1) Firefox and other modern browsers do not allow connections to HTTP while being on HTTPS. To overcome this problem, either use HTTP (Preferences > user profile > basic information > uncheck "Always use a secure connection when logged in") or allow HTTP traffic from your browser's options. 2) There was a file input shown when clicking the textbox for entering a Flickr URL. This is because UploadWizard does not hide the transparent file input after selecting the "Flickr-option". https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/75122/ possibly unearthed this fault by stopping to move the file input around. 3) Sometimes CSS seems to be later loaded. Therefore, the values calculated in moveFileInputToCover are correct for the rendering without that CSS but not with. Consequently the file input only partially covers the button. This does not happen reproducibly and only when users skip the tutorial. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 51462] VisualEditor: Strip whitespace from the start of paragraphs before sending to Parsoid
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51462 --- Comment #13 from Elitre --- I am also filing a related common problem we meet at it.wp. If this is not the right place, just tell me and I'll copy/paste my report elsewhere. We had troubles with nowikis being thrown right after some templates when the user did not add an extra space there, but simply edited something in that page. See https://it.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia&diff=61171396&oldid=61171228 . We actually found a workaround for this: https://it.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Quote&curid=224372&diff=61173726&oldid=60749506 but since this addition is apparently a nonsense, users demand that VE prevents that behaviour instead. They also think this is related to templates featuring some kind of table. I did some tests as well. I was able to reproduce an unwanted situation where the first line and the table (which is actually a template) were mingled in a non-editable block https://it.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Utente%3AElitre_%28WMF%29%2FSandbox_VE&diff=61181542&oldid=61181524 . But I was also able to avoid nowikis, even if the extra span tags were not added to the template: as you can see here https://it.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Utente:Elitre_(WMF)/Sandbox_VE&diff=prev&oldid=61181473, if the first letter of the line is actually closer to the template's final brace (with no space between), VEditing that page will result in the text getting automatically placed in a better position, and no nowikis in sight, even after multiple saves of the page. [Bug 49603] VisualEditor: Display HTML comments to the editor (and make them editable/creatable)
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49603 --- Comment #21 from Chris McKenna --- Like Pam I think it is best that these notices are visible and in-your-face so there is no doubt that you have seen them. Hover also causes issues on touch screen devices I think. One thing that would be possible would be for there to be an icon associated with the comment that collapsed it to get a more WYSIWYG view (and then expanded it again on a subsequent click). The default display would be shown. I guess that custom css/js to have them hidden by default would be possible if people wanted, but I don't suggest the devs do anything other than make it possible for users to write this. I don't know how difficult any of this would be to program though. On the issue of rendering, I know that some comments contain links, for example from [[Patrick Stewart]]: Obviously this is shown like any other link in the source editor, but it makes it clear that it is a link to an article and people with navpopups can select it and get a preview of the link. If VE could parse links (and I guess external links) then that would be a nice to have. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 53513] Wikilove places messages in Interface Language
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53513 --- Comment #3 from Siebrand --- (In reply to comment #1) > If a Spanish user sends a WikiLove message to a Russian user on Commons, > should > the title and header of the WikiLove post be in Spanish, Russian, or English > (the default language on Commons)? Russian would be best localized for the recipient, if that is based on the UI language setting of the recipient at the time the wikilove is given. English (default content language of the wiki) would be acceptable. Spanish would be wrong in my opinion, as we have no information that the recipient is able to understand the love in that language... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
