  Any variation in 
MediaWiki.jobqueue.inserts_actual.wikibase_addUsagesForPage.rate seems normal. 
So this can't be a sudden increase in pages rendered.
  The change in rates noticed in 
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T136598#2340678 is only temporary afterwards 
it seems to be similar to before again.
  The rest of the db errors (not from wikibase_addUsagesForPage, e.g. 
https://logstash.wikimedia.org/#dashboard/temp/AVUIrz6-_LTxu7wlGH5_ ) seem to 
have a high percentage of them going to wikidatawiki.

  I usually end up right clicking the tab and duplicating it, that way I don't 
lose what I currently have on the clipboard. :) I suppose refreshing the page 
would work too but I never trust browsers/pages to not lose something if I do 
that.
  
  Also, I didn't mention why what I suggested would be ideal (for me): Most of 
the options (deciding to sit and wait (and succeeding in doing that without 
getting distracted by something else ;)), clicking a stop button, refreshing or 
opening a new tab) need some kind of deliberate action from me, which 
interrupts what I'm doing. What I suggested would be unobtrusive - I could just 
continue editing and running the query until I get the results I want without 
it interrupting me.

  Another note: cancel requires POST support as it seems, which currently is 
not supported. Also, since we have more than one server, we need some kind of 
affinity on Varnish side, which I am not sure whether we have or not.
  
  @Deskana one query is probably no big deal. Lots of heavy queries can be a 
problem. But those are usually not from GUI but from bots.

  Do we know that such queries have a big performance hit or cause undue strain 
on the servers? I agree that in an ideal world this feature would be useful, 
but if these queries are not causing any significant issues then practically 
speaking it may not be worth investing engineering time in such a feature.

  @Smalyshev: Good to know. So the client would send the cancel request while 
the query `GET` request is still pending, and that would then return… 204 No 
Content? 408 Request Timeout? (I suppose it doesn’t matter – the client knows 
it canceled the query, it doesn’t need to check the response to detect that.)
  
  @Nikki: One workaround is to open a new query tab ;) Ctrl+L,C,T,V, Enter.

  I prefer a popup in view and visualeditor mode (maybe anything similar in 
source editor too), that can be opened by clicking on a button next to the 
entry (for example, similar to references, a [Data] link). In this popup, you 
can change and delete it or add, change and delete its references. Maybe some 
more functions can be added, for instance (just ideas):
  
  - If a statement with references is deleted by popup, it isn't deleted, but 
ranked as deprecated (maybe with override possibilities)
  - In general, a better GUI for refernces where the tool asks for the type of 
reference (book, web, ...) and adds the appropiate properties automatically
  - A show more link to edit more of the item, at least the identifiers and 
statements of the same property (the count of statements with this property 
should be listes without clicking show more), here it would be useful to be 
able to add statements (useful for lists)
  
  A further idea would be to make descriptions editable from Wikipedia apps, 
where they are shown (I think quite easy).
  I think this would make Wikidata way more usable for common Wiki editors.

  The cause is `.prop( 'dir', this.element.prop( 'dir' ) || 'auto' );` trying 
to set the dir property on the input field to auto which is not valid in IE11.

  There is an error when clicking edit: Invalid Argument in the jQuery prop

wrong another idea would be that there is some bug that made dispatching not 
notice that it couldn't create jobs.
  From "job queues were not able to be written to" I assume the EnqueueJob 
strategy with two job queues was not implemented. And instead there was one job 
queue and trying to insert a job fails because the redis server was a slave in 
read only mode (i.e. job redis were switched while crons were not yet). If that 
is what happened this can be tested in a mediawiki vagrant instance (it comes 
with the job queue using redis).
  
  While moving away from dispatching via cron to a delayed job 
(https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T48643) might lessen the symptoms, it is 
probably worth it to track down this bug even if we switch to that.

Hello,

Can anyone suggest me which item (language specifically) that have a great
structure and almost complete with all language property? I'm planning to
do language project in Indonesia, but still can't find the best example for
data structure.

For example, I'm little bit confuse with "indigenous to
", it includes location and
also ethnic group, why don't we split it into two different property?.
English  uses P2341 as original
location, German  uses P495
 refer as the same concept, on
other hand Dutch  is using P17
.

  There is a huge amount of connections to the master, as many that there are 
5000 connection errors per minute.
  
  While I cannot yet put a reason to it, most of the connections that fail seem 
to be happening between 12:00-12:30 UTC. Most of the failures come from 
wikibase-addUsagesForPage job execution. If that is a symptom (because there 
are a lot of them) or a cause, I cannot say yet:
