It's not obvious that this has to do with change tagging. As far as I know, checking whether a particular edit has a certain change tag attached to it is a very fast operation, thanks to the indexes on the change_tag table. In my current draft for a living persons policy (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Living_persons_(draft)) I have a portion that suggests that for every bot edit that a bots that doesn't have a specific "living persons" flag, the bot is supposed to check whether the item is about a living person and if so check whether the property that gets added subclasses Q44597997 or Q44601380.

I don't want to write policy that produces major scalability problems. The purpose of T177353 and its parent ticket T174519: [epic] SDoC: Determine baseline for metrics is to figure out a baseline for metrics on Commons in order to measure future successes for the #structured-data-commons (SDoC) project. The SDoC team and us (#discovery-analysis) came up with a list of stuff that would be interesting to measure, and create T177353 and other child tickets (see T174519 for more details). There is a exploratory nature in this work: some metrics in the list are clearly defined, while some -- for example, what is the exact meaning of "unhelpful" -- are not. Any ideas and comments are very welcome!

The Titleblacklist is used to block certain file names (generic, spam, etc.) through mw:Extension:Title blacklist when users try to upload files with these invalid names. However, regular _expression_ is not perfect and there are still some files with "unhelpful" names got uploaded -- e.g. File:Img-071129152243-0001.png and those in the move log whose change reason is meaningless or ambiguous, which now requires human to identify. TASK DESCRIPTIONWhen adding a new form or sense and hovering the question mark icon next to "save | cancel", no help tooltip appears, but an exception in the _javascript_ console. The reason is that the two jquery.wikibase.lexemeformview.js and jquery.wikibase.senseview.js do not specify a default helpMessage in their default options.

This can be fixed either way:


Add helpMessage options to the two views. This implies actually specifying what these messages should say.
Make these messages optional.

TASK DESCRIPTIONSince yesterday, I keep getting automated emails (like, once an hour) with that subject, for both QuickStatementsBot and Reinheitsgebot, two bots of mine.

There are no unusual edits from either bot. I assume it's from the fix for T182722, since the start of the emails and the fixing of the bug coincide.

How can I prevent being flooded by these mails? Can someone else turn them off? One is OK, but not machine-gunning please...

Just use the wfEscapeWikitext() global function (Defined in includes/GlobalFunctions.php), that's the standard solution the rest of MediaWiki uses.

I don’t think we can do that – {{GENDER}} needs the unescaped username. Otherwise we’ll address these users with the wrong gender. (I tried it out locally, {{GENDER:*asterisk|he|she|they}} produces “she” while {{GENDER:asterisk|he|she|they}} produces “they”.)

And thanks for the other Wikitext examples! But I think none of them affect this bug.
