  I think I found out what's happening here. I tracked down one case of it 
happening which is this edit:

  Why? This edit happening almost at the same time: 
https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?diff=1138568386
  
  Both edits introduce a new text for the term store at the same time and the 
code tries to read it, it can't (because it doesn't exist yet) then it tries to 
insert it, it can't (because the other thread already put it there) then it 
tries to read it again (because it couldn't insert, right?) but it can't find 
it which seems like a very logical thing to do to throw a logic error 
(narrator: it's not).
  
  The reason that the second read can't read the ghost row is MySQL's default 
locking level: "REPEATABLE_READ". I guess that's explanatory enough. when you 
read from master from one transaction, MySQL gives you the old version due to 
MVCC but it doesn't let you insert it either.
  
  I don't know what would be the right solution right now but I will find it.

  Yes, all keys passed to get/set must come from makeKey or makeGlobalKey from 
the same BagOStuff class.
  
  Where to call that depends on whether you intent to expose a general cache 
interface or one that has a finegrained purpose.
  
  Two examples. The generic one requires the caller to use (indirectly) use 
`makeKey`, and the caller is responsible for the TTL etc.

  If there are functional problems in Wikibase with these values, then by all 
means file bugs for them and validate them where it makes sense.
  
  But I would strongly recommend investing effort into "fixing" unusual 
callers. I believe that would create more technical debt and spread out the 
problematic pattern further (and will be hard to understand from the call site 
way that is needed for some and not others).
  
  The problem is that BagOStuff is used in Wikibase that violates its contract.

  Can you point me at the canonical naming scheme? I looked in

  @Tarrow I'm looking at the SimpleCacheWithBagOStuff source, and not only is 
it not proxying makeKey - it doesn't even have a makeKey or similar method from 
what I can see. How is it currently supposed to be used?
  
  I tried to find a usage example, and the first one I found was 
SqlEntityInfoBuilder.php

  If that is a typical use for Wikibase, then we might have a lot of work to do 
as this is both contractually problematic (not calling the makeKey method) and 
conventionally highly problematic (not using any method, and no wiki prefix, 
and no key class component, and no colon separator). This leads to production 
traffic to the cache backend in question in a way that will not be able to be 
monitored or investigated by any means common to most MW developers or SRE.

  The uselang is a red herring. Yes it can be strange, but that is supported 
. It is possible that there 
is a bug and that this value should be discarded, but that is not the bug for 
this task.
  
  Our BagOStuff class allows any character to be used in a cache key, no 
problem. It just needs to be encoded correcrty, which happens automaticaly if 
you call `makeKey()` on the correct cache object - the same object that will 
store the value. The problem is that Wikibase's SimpleCacheWithBagOStuff, 
unlike all other proxy classes, is not proxying the makeKey methods correctly.

  This code relates to the termbox layer of Wikibase which has recently changed 
and is now receiving more traffic into a new previouly unexposed codepath. It 
is indeed not new in the train, but it is newly deployed.
  
  Given it seems deterministic I suspect it might not be opcache corruption 
this time, as those tend to generate many different errors and rarely in the 
same class twice, much less the exact same way twice.
  
  @Ladsgroup Can you determine the impact of this array being undefined without 
a fatal error? Does it propagate to other things in the system and/or to end 
users in a bad way?

  A full reimport is in progress and should solve this issue once completed (or 
if it does not, then we'll need to dig deeper). Reimport has started last week 
and is likely to run for another week. It then needs to be propagated to all 
servers...

  Just adjusting the project tags.
  
  But I agree with @Dvorapa - this is not a bug. The way to fix it is to update 
the template. Templates shouldn't add interlanguage links at all.

  Hello, I have noticed

 that existence of an interwiki link in a template page, causes wrong interwiki 
link for *the language the interwiki link is pointing to it*, in other words it 
overrides the Wikidata interwiki link for that language, I don't know whether 
this problem is in the pages which use that template or the whole pages in the 
template, either the template is inserted in them or not, there is need to test 
it.
  
  Steps to Reproduce:
  
  1. Add an interwiki link to a template page in en.wikipedia (preferred) the 
template I have linked to is the best case.
  
  2. Check the interwiki link for that language in the template pages. --

  So we just had a little discussion and determined that 2 issues have now been 
identified here:
  
  1. as described in this ticket, CachingPrefetchingTermLookup does not work 
with getLocalServerObjectCache returns an EmptyBagOStuff, as the Lookup expects 
to be able to store knowledge there in every case.
  2. also CachingPrefetchingTermLookup expects that callers to methods of of 
the TermLookup interface have already called prefetchTerms which is not the 
currently expected situation in Wikibase.
  
  The actionables that we came to from the discussion are:
  
  - CachingPrefetchingTermLookup should contain a second internal cache that 
wraps the external one ie. not loose information in the case no local cache is 
available
  - Document the implementations of PrefetchingTermLookup and TermLookup 
methods stating where they will be retrieving data from, and what the fallbacks 
are

  Currently, there are 13 warnings, all of them indicating technical debt.
  
  - 1 in Wikibase about the use of a deprecated parameter
  - 12 in MobileFrontend indicating the tests are doing something bogus and 
possibly don't test for what's expected.
  
  I therefore propose to fix these warnings and set `failOnWarning="true"` to 
make sure these problems aren't missed anymore.

  Product question: in case we are formatting a reference containing a snak for 
a property that does not exist (any longer) (cf. 
) - how do we handle 
this? The existing formatters we (re)use have an opinion about that but it may 
not necessarily be the desired behavior, especially when we combine their 
output to form a larger string.
  
  Example: `[...] Property P711 not found, 
cannot determine the data type to use. [...]` (mark-up will not be seen 
by the user if embed it into bridge)
