  Hello, @Urmilasc !
  We've deprecated that issue in favour of 
https://github.com/wikicurricula-uy/wikicurricula-boilerplate/pull/46 which we 
think will solve it.
  In this context, templates are pieces of wikitext  that users add to a 
Wikipedia article to give a sort of warning that the article needs to be 
improved. More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Templates
  So, as well as counting images and references, it's useful to count 
templates, since Wikipedia editors may use our visualization to identify which 
articles need to be improved.

that I see here is that the excecution of bot.py takes quite a long time.
  
  I think that the Wikidata query and the excecution of bot.py should be done 
automatically but scheduled (monthly or weekly or daily). This should give us 2 
voci files, one for Uruguay and one for Ghana, which are periodically updated.
  
  Then, when the user  clicks on the link, the visualization will switch 
between ghana's voci file and uruguay's voci file.
  
  What do you think? If it seems sensible, please go ahead and create the issue 
:D

  The problem is exactly that the policy doesn’t cover them at all – it states 
neither that they’re a stable interface nor that they aren’t. There are config 
variables (e.g. `wgPageName`) that are used all over the place and hopefully 
nobody would remove without deprecation, which makes one think that `mw.config` 
is in general a stable interface. This should be addressed in the policy, 
either by introducing a way to mark certain variables stable, or by introducing 
a totally new store for stable variables.

  Okay, I figured out what the problem is, at least: the `FormatAutocomments` 
hook is now being called with a null `$title`, so we fall back to `$wgTitle`, 
see it’s a special page, and conclude that it’s not an entity page and 
therefore no autocomment formatting is necessary. The hook should be called 
with a `$title` corresponding to the new page of each row.

  The general assumption should be valid for all entities, I'd say. I'm not 
sure if I'd enforce this strictly right now instead of just not adding the 
category from this extension. Unless it is significantly easier to do that I'd 
probably not prohibit categories completely for now.

  Yay ancient code that does stuff! I'll add a first note on the #techwish 
 perspective:
  
  Some of the data these scripts collect is used on our grafana boards. Mainly 
it's about getting information on how user settings change over time. My wild 
guess is though, that 80% of the stuff is obsolete and not really needed 
anymore. For the rest we would need to wait until @Lena_WMDE is back from 
vacation end of this month.
  
  Regarding ownership I guess it's mostly about the count scripts in [1] apart 
from `dbtables/` `wikibase/` and `wikidata/`. I'm not to sure about everything 
in #betafeatures  counter 
[2]. Some things there are defenitly also obsolete.
  
  And I guess we're obviously also interested in the cronjob that runs the 
script [3] executing the aggregations.

  I can reproduce it locally; reverting specials: Use batch to format comments 
on Special:NewPages  
resolves it.
  
  It’s not immediately clear to me what the problem is; `RowCommentFormatter` 
is seemingly also used by `ChangesList`, which is used by RecentChanges and 
Watchlist, but those aren’t broken, so I don’t think Wikibase is fundamentally 
incompatible with `RowCommentFormatter`.
  
  @Umherirrender and @tstarling: if I understand correctly, that change was 
just a refactoring; would it be okay to temporarily revert it until we’ve 
figured out how to make Wikibase work with it?

  The edit summaries all begin with the string "wbeditentity-create-item:0|".

  The edit summaries should all begin with a string such as "নতুন একটি আইটেম 
তৈরি হয়েছে" in Bengali or "Created a new Item" in English (depending on the 
interface language).
  
  **Software version** (skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):
  
  **Other information** (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):
  
  This affects all entries in Special:NewPages when filtering for the Property, 
Lexeme, and EntitySchema namespaces as well. Special:RecentChanges and 
Special:Contributions both display the translated edit summary messages

  @Lucas_Werkmeister_WMDE using `mw.loader.getState` looks great and does 
exactly what you want. It seems like it would also be resilient to changes 
elsewhere (for example if one of those modules isn't loaded on certain pages 
this code also wouldn't load)

  @Tacsipacsi  mw.config variables are not currently covered by the frontend 
stable policy 
. 
FWIW I originally added that variable for internal usage in MobileFrontend back 
in 2013 when mobile had a beta mode and MobileFrontend didn't use 
ResourceLoader. As you point out it's no longer used internally, but it's 
adoption in WikimediaEvents and various other extensions has made it slow to 
remove.

  So, I would suggest the following rough structure/sections for the Runbook:
  
  1. create the wikitech page and clearly identify the potential alert that 
might be triggered, so that this page can also be found when searching for 
snippets from alert emails
  2. Overview of the Wikibase ChangeDispatching process: This should especially 
include: Where it is triggered? What tables are involved there? What jobs are 
triggered and where (repo wikis, clients), What are the "outputs" (updated 
values in articles, lines in watchlists, updated sitelinks on articles, ...)?
  3. describe how to differentiate between an issue where the root cause still 
seems to be active and still seems to be making things worse, and an issue 
where the cause seems to already have ceased, and the alert is due to delayed 
downstream effects.
  4. describe one way for how to maybe identify edits/editors causing issues 
based on the once case where we did so previously
  
  That is not exactly a great structure, but it seems it would make our current 
knowledge available, and it can be improved in the future. I would suggest that 
we created subtasks for each of the sections, with the first maybe being on the 
quick side of things.

  Design verification done on Chrome 117, Safari 17 and Firefox 11. As 
previously mentioned, there's a display issue related to responsiveness that 
needs fixing (the linearization of the table should happen at a larger 
breakpoint). In some browsers, even horizontal scroll is triggered:

  Since we shouldn't modify the WiKit component, I would recommend adjusting 
the table's breakpoint as part of the process to port it to the Mismatch finder 
(see T348271: [WtC-M2] Port Table component to Mismatch Finder 
). I would understand if we wanted 
to make this a separate task, though.

  Okay, I think this issue doesn’t actually exist. Lydia and I just got both 
confused, in the same way, coincidentally. I almost can’t believe it, but I 
think that’s what happened.
  
  Take another look at these aliases:

  You know what that is? That’s a “**test**” alias, and also a “Property 
**test**” alias which happens to have a line break due to the layout. There is 
no second “test” alias. And I //think// there never was one to begin with. Now 
that I realize this, I can no longer reproduce the issue using the steps from 
the task description, neither with the alias “test” (which we both happened to 
choose, and which lends itself to confusion with “Property test”), nor with 
another of the existing aliases (like “sandbox”).

  And we just got extremely unlucky that in both of these screenshots “Property

  But for a caching issue it’s remarkably persistent – the duplicate “test” 
alias on that item has so far survived removing the alias 

 (after which it was shown once rather than twice, when it should not have been 
shown at all), removing an unrelated alias

have absolutely no idea where the termbox can possibly be getting this double

problem is that gadgets must not load Wikibase ResourceLoader modules that

  I can’t actually reproduce the issue with AuthorityControl anymore, so the 
patch in T340859#9239476  
can probably be ignored. In DuplicateReferences (the other gadget mentioned in 
T340859#8981437 ), I think 
removing the dependency on `wikibase.ui.entityViewInit` in the 
gadgets-definition  
is enough to solve this issue; the DuplicateReferences code itself then needs 
to be tweaked a bit further to avoid an error when `wb.EntityInitializer` isn’t

the benefit of third-party users like gadget authors.

  Our work with WMF data engineering (T340648 
) has uncovered some WMDE cronjobs 
running from stat1007 without clear ownership.
  
  This investigation tries to
  
  1. understand the consequences of the cronjobs for the ongoing work with WMF, 
as well as
  2. clarify the team ownership of these cronjobs.
  
  Scope
  -
  
  The scope of this investigation is to understand the code to the point that 
teams can self-assign tech and product ownership.
  
  Suggested steps:
  
  1. understand the scope of this internally
  2. have a joint call/chat with WMF data engineering to a) understand the 
scope of this, and b) discuss what our best way forward is
  3. identify the involved WMDE products and dev teams
  4. alert the involved teams and ask them to a) document what exactly this 
does for them and b) for everything that is still important, we ask them to 
assign themselves as responsible owners (PMs plus dev team)
