[Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Created] T172076: Wikibase language links feature not working for thirdparty with site_global_keys ending with wiki but do not represent interwiki links
Florian created this task.Florian added a project: MediaWiki-extensions-WikibaseClient.Herald added subscribers: PokestarFan, Aklapper.Herald added a project: Wikidata. TASK DESCRIPTIONThis is more or less related to T137537, which could be silently fixed with fixing the task, however, I wanted to make sure, that the current implementation (described below) probably works for the specific cases and assumptions in Wikimedia wikis, but does not work for third-party wikis or wikis, which do not meet these assumptions. Today I worked on getting the ContentTranslation extension up and running and started using the language links functionalities of Wikibase (the Wikibase installation exists for a long time already, but wasn't used for language links, as there was only one wiki with one language until now). During the evaluation and installation of these things, I found out, that Wikibase' LangLinkHandler has a very _specific_ assumption about what the interwiki link of a site might be (until T137537 is fixed). It simply removes the "wiki" or "wikitionary" part of the site_global_id and uses the remaining part as the interwiki link: public function getInterwikiCodeFromSite( Site $site ) { // FIXME: We should use $site->getInterwikiIds, but the interwiki ids in // the sites table are wrong currently, see T137537. $id = $site->getGlobalId(); $id = preg_replace( '/(wiki\w*|wiktionary)$/', '', $id ); $id = strtr( $id, [ '_' => '-' ] ); if ( !$id ) { $id = $site->getLanguageCode(); } return $id; } https://github.com/wikimedia/mediawiki-extensions-Wikibase/blob/22c655666a651864674826be72c4f697d9281e6c/client/includes/LangLinkHandler.php#L399-L409 This might work very well for WIkimedia and Wikimedia-like wikis, however, it does not work for most of the other wikis. A site_global_key, which ends with wiki, like endroidwiki, will be treated as having an interwiki link of endroid, which is false, as the interwiki link for this wiki is only "en", which is also the prefix saved in the interwiki table of MediaWiki. While I agree, that task T137537 needs to be fixed, I would ask for a workaround/temporary configuration, which allows wikis (like third-party wikis) to use getInterwikiIds of the Site class for the interwiki links, instead of this fuzzy assumption with the site global key.TASK DETAILhttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T172076EMAIL PREFERENCEShttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/To: FlorianCc: Aklapper, Florian, PokestarFan, GoranSMilovanovic, QZanden, Izno, Wikidata-bugs, aude, Mbch331___ Wikidata-bugs mailing list Wikidata-bugs@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-bugs

Florian added a comment. I moved this task to the Extension special pages, even if the change res requested to land on the Special:Import page. The reason is, that the main functionality should be developed in Wikibase, not in mediawiki/core. If there's something missing in the Special:Import page (e.g. a hook or whatever), we can think about changing this :P However, two questions: How would mediawiki/core (or even Wikibase) find the _correct_ item to link a specific page to? And what should happen when no item was found? Should an item be automatically created (which could be duplicate dthen) or should the user get a question? :)TASK DETAILhttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T151678EMAIL PREFERENCEShttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/To: FlorianCc: Florian, abian, Aklapper, Ptolusque, Sethakill, D3r1ck01, Izno, Wikidata-bugs, aude, Mbch331___ Wikidata-bugs mailing list Wikidata-bugs@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-bugs

[Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Created] T151135: Wikibase composer modules breaks LoggerFactory configurations when merged into mediawiki/core composer.json
Florian created this task.Florian added projects: MediaWiki-General-or-Unknown, Wikibase-DataModel, Wikibase-DataModel-_javascript_, Wikibase-DataModel-Serialization.Herald added a subscriber: Aklapper.Herald added a project: Wikidata. TASK DESCRIPTIONI discovered this, when I worked in switching my wiki from the default, file-based logging, to Monolog loggers (my wiki uses Wikibase). So, I thought I "simply" configure $wgMWLoggerDefaultSpi in my LocalSettings.php, and let the logs be redirected to redis (which then is read by logstash and visualized in kibana, at least that's my plan). This resulted in the following configuration (based on the example on-wiki): $wgMWLoggerDefaultSpi = array( 'class' => '\\MediaWiki\\Logger\\MonologSpi', 'args' => array( array( 'loggers' => array( '@default' => array( 'processors' => array( 'wiki', 'psr', 'pid', 'uid', 'web' ), 'handlers' => array( 'default', 'redis' ), ), 'wfDebug' => array( 'handlers' => array( 'default' ), 'processors' => array( 'psr' ), ), 'profileoutput' => array( 'handlers' => array( 'profiler' ), 'processors' => array( 'psr' ), ), ), 'processors' => array( 'wiki' => array( 'class' => '\\MediaWiki\\Logger\\Monolog\\WikiProcessor', ), 'psr' => array( 'class' => '\\Monolog\\Processor\\PsrLogMessageProcessor', ), 'pid' => array( 'class' => '\\Monolog\\Processor\\ProcessIdProcessor', ), 'uid' => array( 'class' => '\\Monolog\\Processor\\UidProcessor', ), 'web' => array( 'class' => '\\Monolog\\Processor\\WebProcessor', ), ), 'handlers' => array( 'default' => array( 'class' => '\\MediaWiki\\Logger\\Monolog\\LegacyHandler', 'args' => array( '/data/www/mediawiki-log/monolog-'.date('Ymd').'.log' ), 'formatter' => 'line', ), 'redis' => array( 'class' => '\\Monolog\\Handler\\RedisHandler', 'args' => array( function() { $redis = new Redis(); $redis->connect( '127.0.0.1', 6379 ); return $redis; }, 'logstash' ), 'formatter' => 'logstash', ), 'profiler' => array( 'class' => '\\MediaWiki\\Logger\\Monolog\\LegacyHandler', 'args' => array( '/data/www/mediawiki-log/profiler-'.date('Ymd').'.log' ), 'formatter' => 'profiler', ), ), 'formatters' => array( 'line' => array( 'class' => '\\Monolog\\Formatter\\LineFormatter', ), 'logstash' => array( 'class' => '\\Monolog\\Formatter\\LogstashFormatter', 'args' => array( 'mediawiki', php_uname( 'n' ), null, '', 1 ), ), 'profiler' => array( 'class' => '\\Monolog\\Formatter\\LineFormatter', 'args' => array( "%datetime% %message%\n\n", null, true, true ), ), ), ) ), ); After setting the $wgMWLoggerDefaultSpi config variable, I recognized, that no data is sent to logstash, and even not to redis (which I checked after that). After some time, I checked, if my configuration is applied by putting the following code directly after the assignment of the $wgMWLoggerDefaultSpi variable: $logger = LoggerFactory::getInstance( 'test' ); var_dump( get_class( $logger ) ); exit; And I got the output, that the LegacyLogger is returned by the LoggerFactory, which shouldn't happen if the configuration above is applied. So, after checking, that I used the correct global variable (twice) I checked, when getInstance() of LoggerFactory is called the first time by adding a debug_print_backtrace() call to the method, and I got the following output: #0 MediaWiki\Logger\LoggerFactory::getProvider() called at [/data/mediawiki/main/includes/debug/logger/LoggerFactory.php:97] #1 MediaWiki\Logger\LoggerFactory::getInstance(objectcache) called at [/data/mediawiki/main/includes/objectcache/ObjectCache.php:175] #2 ObjectCache::newFromParams(Array) called at [/data/mediawiki/main/includes/ServiceWiring.php:336] #3 Closure$ #34(Object of class MediaWiki\MediaWikiServices could not be converted to string) #4 call_user_func_array(Object of class Closure$ #34;2111707029$8f1050010a79dba3428a504eb49b3b82$ could not be converted to string, Array) cal

Florian created this task. Herald added a subscriber: Aklapper. Herald added a project: Wikidata. TASK DESCRIPTION If a thrid party wiki uses the otherprojects sidebar to link to projects, like Wikipedia, Commons and/or Wikidata, there's one problem. If the third-party configured multiple Wikipedia sites as valid "other projects", it's currently impossible to distinguish these links with the used MediaWiki messgaes, all share the same message key `wikibase-otherprojects-wikipedia`. It would be nice, if there's at least a hook before the link is added, which allows a third party to change/extend the used message key. Florian added a comment. "putting extension.json in a callback" doesn't make sense for me :) I'm pretty sure, if Wikibase will be converted to extension.json, that it will work with the current implemenation of ExtensionRegistration :) In https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T122748#1912873, @Paladox wrote: > "CallbackConfig": { > "config": {}, > "AutoloadClasses": {} > } That looks like you propose to allow a dirty nesting of extensionregistration keys. How would this be processed? I'm pretty sure, this will not find a way into our code, it's pretty useless. I think you misunderstand the use of call_user_func(), right? I'm not sure, why Wikibase do that, but this (from my point of view) doesn't need (and can) be migrated to extension registration. I'm not sure, how you would implement this, and why, but I would say: no, we don't need this :) The question still is: What is the goal you want to achieve? The extension.json is simply a descriptor file, it doesn't hold any logic, it simply tells the ExtensionProcessor what to do. Haven't tried that in Wikidata production, because I don't want to add and remove pointless connections between wikidata items and real wiki pages :) TASK DETAIL https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T110804 EMAIL PREFERENCES https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/ To: Florian Cc: Aklapper, Florian, Wikidata-bugs, aude, Malyacko ___ Wikidata-bugs mailing list Wikidata-bugs@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-bugs

Florian added a comment. Hi together, We should make sure, that this doesn't break anything. The list of h1s was added to fix both, T62478: Table of contents looks weird when only one lead section https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T62478 and T62479: Can't edit subsequent sections when a section is commented out https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T62479. Isn't this needed anymore? Doesn't this has any side effects? Btw.: Why does Wikivoyage (at least on the London page) doesn't have edit links for each section? [Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Commented On] T97891: setHTMLTitle to empty string or false should prevent rendering of H1 on page
Florian added a subscriber: Florian. Florian added a comment. I think you mean OutputPage::setPageTitle()? OutputPage::setHTMLTitle() only set's the title-tag in head. The problem is, that the h1 element isn't created by mediawiki core. Each skin uses the title (which can be set by OutputPage) to create the h1 tag alone, see e.g. Vector https://github.com/wikimedia/mediawiki-skins-Vector/blob/master/VectorTemplate.php#L110-L114. So, for compatible reasons,it's abit more complicated to find a standard way (but would be possible and we could start implementing a way for wmf-deployed skins). Btw: To reproduce the current situation on your local environment, you can set $wgGroupPermissions['autoconfirmed']['mf-uploadbutton'] = false; and $wgGroupPermissions['sysop']['mf-uploadbutton'] = false; in your LocalSettings.php, add $wgMFUploadMinEdits = 1000 // upload feature will be disabled as long, as you have no more than 1000 edits or $wgMFPageActions = array( 'edit', 'talk', 'watch' ); :) TASK DETAIL https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T95881 REPLY HANDLER ACTIONS Reply to comment or attach files, or !close, !claim, !unsubscribe or !assign username. [Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Commented On] T85365: identifiers are not linked on mobile
Florian added a comment. It should be possible to migrate this Gadget into a module and add the dependencies: AuthorityControl[ResourceLoader|default|**dependencies=wikibase.api.RepoApi**]|AuthorityControl.js Another way would be to add a wrapper JS module for it (to make sure, that the dependencies are loaded) and load the Gadget with mw.loader.load( 'gadget-url' ); But it should be configurable to be a specific module for wikidata.
