  @JAllemandou I think that is an option as well, the thing is that is it is 
transitional to help to bootstrap a test of the full pipeline. In the end we 
won't be using jumbo and thus won't be able to rely on a 30days retention on 
main so hopefully we'll be able to reset the retention back to 7days once we're 
done with the test.
  To circumvent this particular problem (time to make the dumps available > 
retention) we could either:
  
  - send back the events that matter back to kafka and have higher retention 
like you suggest
  - create a dedicated job running on the analytics network to read the events 
stored in HDFS and figure out a way to make the resulting data available in 
kafka main

  The lag:

  Replication lag on a database server at that time:

  Root cause is T238199: SpecialFewestRevisions::reallyDoQuery takes more than 
9h to run  which saw the page 
removed in T238199#6169152  
which fixed this case of dispatch lag.
  
  This was very similar to T252952: Wikidata dispatching slow and maxlag high 
on Wikidata due to db1101 replication lag 
 in which db lag caused the dispatch 
process to wait for replication causing higher dispatch lag leading to higher 
maxlag.
  In the case that a db server gets lagged we are likely to see the same 
pattern happen again, however, the cause of the lag will not be the special 
page (which was the cause of this case).
  One of the followups for the DBAs for those tickets is T253120: Create 
prometheus alert to detect lag spikes 
 which should help get these tackled 
faster.
  Other than that, we could alter how much dispatch lag is taken into account 
in maxlag? however in both of these cases the DB lag was over 5 anyway, so 
maxlag still would've been over 5 for the majority of the time period.

  I assume we want Storybook as a way to communicate between UX, product and 
engineering. If you think it's valuable to have the Figma components alongside 
the Vue components, then sure let's integrate the two tools. We would have to 
come up with some very obvious distinction between the two sets, so people are 
not confused.
  I cannot think of a situation where we would like to have both, though. :/

TASK DESCRIPTION
  **Current behavior:**
  Reference rendering ( `renderReferences` action) is currently not covered by 
our custom error handling - if there is an error or a lack of response (which 
eventually results in a timeout error), the `initBridgeWithRemoteData` throws 
an exception (by virtue of `await`), but this is never converted to an 
application error.
  
  **Expected behavior:**
  I'm not sure what the desired state is. Show bridge anyway, or an error 
screen?
  
  **Technical note:**
  
  - can easily by achieved by a breakpoint in `ApiFormatReference` which is 
kept for 30sec+

  One thing that may be relevant here is that the query may have worked once or 
twice in the last 6 months due to this underlying issue. Last update that 
completed successfully was 27 March. In effect, because this bug, this wasn't 
disabled officially but it was already (for the most part) not-working (but 
still causing issues before the merge).

  Use `FILTER(?dateOfDeath >= "2020-01-01"^^xsd:date)` which is as convenient, 
but is also a valid literal (note the datatype).
  
  The trouble with accepting invalid input is that further computations then 
become invalid. Eg how do you explain these results:
  
select * {
  bind("2000-02-30T00:00:00Z"^^xsd:dateTime as ?x) # returns 2000 ???
  bind(day("2000-02-30T00:00:00Z"^^xsd:dateTime) as ?x1)  # returns 2 ???
}

  I’m not sure what’s happening. The test is supposed to check that, when you 
get this “you’re not logged in” warning, clicking the “log in” button sends you 
to the login page, and it fails at the point where it clicked the login button 
and is waiting for the login page to appear. From the video, it looks like the 
login button is clicked, but then nothing happens; the Jenkins console doesn’t 
show any network requests for the login page at the relevant time.

 to it. I was successful in adding the fawiki link. However, when I attempted 
to add the enwiki link, I got this error: `The save has failed`
  
  Of note, the enwiki page does not have an entry on Wikidata (or at least I 
don't find one using search) so I don't think that is the issue.
  
  By the way, this is a very informative error message. Can we make it more 
specific? Why did the save fail?

  If there are "general" (non-Wikidata) issues to uncover on group0, we would 
ideally uncover them without letting Wikidata propagate and corrupt data to 
group2 and group1 wikis like Wikipedia, and Commons, and also without letting 
it take down those sites e.g. as part of cross-wiki backend dependencies.

  The browser hint (bottom left) indicates that it focused the right element 
(the login link) and the button has a hard-coded `:prevent-default="false"`, 
i.e. there is no scenario in which the click's native browser behavior would be 
intercepted by our JavaScript code. So we are looking at an `` tag which was 
clicked but navigation is not happening, and there is not even indication 
(spinner) that it wants to navigate but can't. No clue either.

game's toolforge account as a maintainer, there you will have access to run 
your own scripts on the game's database. Can you please provide me with your

find new matches for the game,  which we estimate will be done in a few days or

  @GoranSMilovanovic Regarding when we will be having all the data: As for now, 
there are already potential references on the game. So there must be some data 
already. Other than that, the scraping is on and we will wait to have the full 
dump of potential references, which can take a minimum of 20 days, prior to 
dump it on to the game.  It would be great to be able to visualise the 
acceptance of the references from that moment on if that's possible.

  This metric is available in graphana through `kafka_burrow_partition_lag`, 
problem is that for some reasons we stopped polling updates from Kafka and

so I believe we could enable it again.
  
  In the ideal case the updater runs at full speed most of the time as the 
effect of the maxlag propagates fast enough that the system in place works for 
what it was designed: make sure users don't query and see too much out of date 
data and don't starve too much when the threshold is green again.
  One problem that the current maxlag strategy does not address properly is 
when a single server is lagged situations like this starts to happen:

  The median across all pooled servers being used the effect of the maxlag no 
longer propagates fast enough, for high lagged servers they see the effect of 
the edit rate slowdown that happened 10 mins ago while others sees their queue 
being emptied while they could have handled more. All this being pretty much 
random (spikes across servers are at different times) it exacerbates even more 
the oscillation. Was it evaluated to take the max or the sum instead of the 
median?
  
  As said in a previous comment there always be bottleneck somewhere, I feel 
that having a single fixed limit makes it a bit difficult to handle the 
variance in the edit rate and could encourage us to always tune it to a lower 
value to resolve such lag issues without knowing when your system can handle 
more.
  A solution around Retry-After and a PID controller seems a bit more flexible 
to me, the main drawbacks is that it relies on well behaved clients (which is 
currently the case).
  
  As for addressing the issue with the updater itself, we believe we have room 
for optimizations by redesigning the way we perform updates. The current 
situation is clearly not ideal but it can keep-up the update rates when bots 
are slowed down which gives us I hope enough time to finish the work we started 
on this rewrite.

  Multiple users are reporting (and I confirm) that Merge gadget disappeared on 
Wikidata when using Vector skin

  The problem seems to be with the hidden tabs (which appear from the dropdown 
menu) and usually include gadgets. This dropdown menu does not appear anymore 
at all in Vector skin.
  
  Gadgets are still displayed in other skins (e.g. it works in Monobook).
  
  As a result, item merges are too complicated on Wikidata which significantly 
harms the ability to edit.

  Thanks @Jarekt, I've been trying to figure it out based on the other modules 
you mentioned, especially [[Module:Artwork]], but nothing works even when I 
copy and paste all the lines that your comments say are about harvesting 
Wikidata to populate the rows. I just get empty rows. I've been editing in 
[[Module:Map/sandbox]] and testing it in a page called 
[[Template:Map/sandbox/infopull]] but I'm not getting anywhere. The files I 
test just end up with a blank template no matter what I do. If you (or anyone) 
get a chance to look and see what I'm doing wrong, I would appreciate it. I'll 
keep trying next week when I can devote more hours to it again.

  I understand hence the "short term fix" part :) - that will patch wikidata in 
the mean time.
  
  A fix will be coming soon, but it will take a bit longer.

  Is this issue linked to T252800  ? 
indeed it is in some way similar as it affects as well just Vector skin and has 
an impact on displayed menu items.

  The gadget is there, it's just the menu is hidden
  
  As a short term fix I suggest adding the following rule to the gadget:
  
#p-cactions.vector-menu-empty  { display: block; }
  
  I'll look for a better long term fix.

  It's not just one gadget. Everything I had in the dropdown menu disappeared 
with the menu itself. You will basically have to fix all gadgets affected
