Dear friends Before deleting any file, please make it a rule to check out which pages it is linked to. Especially Images. One image disappeared from my page I had to reload it with another image name. Selective and checked deletion is a must. Weeding must be done carefully! In my post earlier today about an image with no source info, I felt unsure about whether to just request its deletion or if there is some better way to handle it. Yes, we do need a system to handle the dead bodies so they don't pile up. And this one seems pretty simple to use. am reluctant to also be the person to delete the same file (perhaps a reasonable approach?). Agreed, deletions of other people's work should have an independent review before deleting. Guess my suggestion would be to create a few guidelines for when to suggest deletion of other people's work (lack of source info, likely copyright issue). Putting these directly on the category page works for me. Maybe add an explanation of the function on the wikieducator tutorials with link to category page. I think it may be better for anyone who wants to delete an image or page to
contact the admin. Leaving a template may be followed by contacting all the
people involved in adding to the page. I edited the deletion template, but
you can change it back or change it altogether if you disapprove:
