[Wiki Loves Monuments] National landing pages: Make sure you have a great one

2018-08-05 Thread Lodewijk
Hi everyone,

A good landing page is important to keep your participants involved, and
make sure they actually submit their images.

Last year and in the past few months, I had several discussions with some
of you about what a landing page for a country could look like. This is why
I took some effort to put together what I think is a combination of some
good examples. I created both an explanation

and an example
.
I tried to keep it as simple as possible for Wikimedians with little
experience (as little as possible templates etc).

Martin has kindly offered to help make this design responsive, but depends
here on the WMF implementing some software changes, which are scheduled for
the next weeks. In the mean time, I invite you to look at the page, give
feedback or make improvements. I hope this will be a helpful addition to
our documentation shelf
.
The example can definitely be much improved!

You can also already start adapting the text of the page to your country's
situation. You will be able to copy and paste that text into the new
design. The content should roughly be the same.

If you have any questions, please do reach out. We're a bit understaffed
this year, but we should be able to help out where we can :)

Best,

Lodewijk
