[Wikimedia-l] [Affiliates] Recognition of the Wikipedians of Goa User Group

Dear all,

Thanks very much indeed for your kind words and warm welcome to the
Wikipedians of Goa User Group.

Our real work starts now! We hope we can live up to the confidence placed
in us, and fulfil our commitments to be an effective user group.

Since we are more geography-focussed (and also looking at Goa's connections
with the rest of India and the outside world), we look forward to working
with all possible groups and individuals on any project that intersects
with Goa. Paulo, we would love to do a lot more in the world of lusophony.
We need your help and involvement too!

[Wikimedia-l] Meet with the Affiliations Committee at Wikimania

Hi everyone!

The Affiliations Committee will be available for face-to-face meetings with
attendees at the upcoming Wikimania conference.  We are happy to meet with
representatives of Wikimedia affiliates, groups interested in becoming
affiliates, and anyone else with an interest in the Wikimedia affiliate
ecosystem.

To make it easier to schedule a meeting with us, we've created a sign-up
form (https://bit.ly/2Ym86u3).  If you are attending Wikimania and would
like to meet with us, please fill out the form, and we will do our best to
accommodate your request.

I'm very happy to announce that the Affiliations Committee has recognized
[1] the Hausa Wikimedians User Group [2] as a Wikimedia User Group. The
group aims to promote the editing of Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects
in Hausa, and to engage and encourage more Hausa speakers to become
contributors to the Wikimedia projects.
