Re: [Wikimedia-l] PRISM
What information could the WMF disclose that isn't already available to some volunteers anyhow? The IP addresses of logged-in editors are visible to volunteer CUs; deleted revisions and log entries are visible to all volunteers admins. Wikipedia's inherently a pretty transparent system... , Salvidrim! -Original Message- From: Anthony Sent: Sunday, June 09, 2013 10:37 PM To: Wikimedia Mailing List Subject: Re: [Wikimedia-l] PRISM There is plenty of reason to think the government would be interested in Wikipedia access logs. On the other hand, there's very little reason to believe an organization when they say they haven't been turning over information under a top secret order which they're not allowed to tell anyone about. Re: [Wikimedia-l] Tweet this page from some or all sites???
I regularly Tweet or (share on Facebook) diff, discussions, articles or other pages. I'm not sure an on-wiki button would necessarily augment the rate at which I post Wikipedia stuff on my social media accounts... , Salvidrim -Original Message- From: Daniel Zahn Sent: Thursday, April 18, 2013 6:31 PM To: Wikimedia Mailing List Subject: Re: [Wikimedia-l] Tweet this page from some or all sites??? in the past i would have liked this feature on commons. l after i uploaded new images to commons i would have likely used a feature to share this on other networks. like I just uploaded new images to wm.commons.. see here for one it would show people (my friends) that i have uploaded new images and i don't have to put them on, say FB itself, and it would also point out to others (non-Wikimedians) there is an alternative place where your images can be free added as a feature request last year: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40456 ___ Wikimedia-l mailing list Wikimedia-l@lists.wikimedia.org Unsubscribe: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimedia-l ___ Wikimedia-l mailing list Wikimedia-l@lists.wikimedia.org Unsubscribe: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimedia-l
Re: [Wikimedia-l] xkcd collecting donations for WMF?
Campaign unfuckingknown, with the medium being spontaneous. Perhaps it is some sort of error handler, when a donation comes from a source the system cannot determine due to some glitch, it puts it there? ;) ,Salvidrim Date: Mon, 1 Apr 2013 20:45:18 +0100 From: morton.tho...@googlemail.com To: wikimedia-l@lists.wikimedia.org Subject: Re: [Wikimedia-l] xkcd collecting donations for WMF?
