Hi all, Sending in an update from the Ahmedabad community: The Wikipedia Takes Ahmedabad photowalk is scheduled for Tuesday, 3 January 2012. As of now, we have received confirmation from 162 individuals on facebook itself! We saw a surge in interest from amateur and professional photographers in Ahmedabad after the Times of India and the Mirror covered our story yesterday. 93.5 RED FM played our pre-recorded interviews this morning. Noopur has created a short-guide on the fly for uploading pictures on to the Wikimedia Commons: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Eec_Yly7wRZB8sNto6rD6WyX3_ATYJezZJ6slxq4k-o/edit Due to the sudden increase in the number of interested participants, we have decided to hold a pre-event meeting with group co-ordinators tomorrow, 29 December 2011. Hi, Anirudh Noopur, Its awesome that this is taking place and soon we all hope to have lots of Ahmedabad images. A small lesson learnt from the Kolkata photothon - Please upload all your images with sensible names such WTA_Collectors_Residence,jpg rather than Ahmedabad_PT034.jpg. I recommend that this point be disseminated to all participants before they upload images. Please do create a Commons category which they should upload to such as [[Category:Ahmedabad Photothon 2012]] or whatever you like which should be nested in category [[Category:Wikipedian_meetups_in_Ahmedabad]]. The meaningful title is something people should ALWAYS follow. I've come across this even back in 2009.
