It's a small venue, not usually open to the public, with a very
interesting collection of objects and archives. There will be good
 opportunities for photographers.

Places are limited, due to the museum's small size.

I hope to see you there.

Hi Harry,

I can confirm Wikimedia UK will run a separate process closer to Wikimania.
Any one from the UK who has already made an application through the
Wikimedia Foundation scholarship process and has agreed to share [their]
information with chapters and thematic organizations for purpose of
selecting and awarding scholarships will *not* need to make another
application. Anyone else can wait until Wikimedia UK own application are
open.

 Hi Katie,

I asked this a while ago and your answer was essentially we're working on
it, but I don't think I'm the only one wondering, so I'll ask on this list.

What do UK (in particular non-London) residents who want financial
support to attend do? Is there going to be a separate process or do we need
to apply for a scholarship through the WMF (which would be a bit silly
 imho)?

I'm sure it would be useful to know before the scholarships deadline.

My assumption would be that those not presenting but
actively/officially involved in some way or other (helping with
workshops, available on the reception desk, acting as guides for local
social outings, taking video of presentations...) would be able to
claim back train fares and possibly accommodation. So those that would
like some financial support to attend can offer to help with this sort
of event coordination as I'm sure there are plenty of UK based helpers
needed.

Am I close to the mark?

All,

I feel obliged to inform you - as if you didn't already know - that weather
conditions in the UK are deteriorating rapidly. If you are in North Wales

through the air!

Or on a more Winter Olympics themed note, and as castles are usually
atop hills, why not build indoor skiing/snowboarding centres, complete
with real snow (basically giant freezers at -5C, with water sprayed
upwards every night from snow cannons to create the snow).

There are six in the UK:

I like the idea of the Lake District Ski Club (real snow, wind etc
permitting), where you have to walk for an hour just to reach the lift:

From what limited correspondence I can see, deletion of these images is

Can we, *please* have some people running things who're not nice and
