Re: [WISPA] Broadband Mapping for NTIA Applications

2009-06-22 Thread Scott Reed
I follow the RMD mail list. No indications there of a change. Should
still work for 2.4 and 5.x.

I have been talking to Daniel from 3-db.net about this issue. I am not a
*really* skilled person in Radio Mobile, I have problems laying in the
antenna portion. Daniels' company has the EDX program. I have seen the
results and it looks good.

RB532's and 112's in enclosures on top of water towers. It's been >95 every
day for almost 2 weeks! (I think the heat advisory icon in my system tray is
permanent!) Most of these are multiple years old.

Well there only time I ever had a heat problem with a SBC was with a WRAP
board mounted inside of a Tranzeo enclosure. During the hottest hours of the
day the board would reboot every 5 minutes.

I have a 433 with an xr5 in a small DCE (the no name one) up in the air, sun
beating down on it. With 100 degree outside air I'm sure the sun will add
15 degrees to heat up the inside.

[WISPA] Routerboard Heat Tolerances

2009-06-22 Thread Jeremy Parr
Has anyone used a Routerboard (Specifically a 433) in a hot
enviroment? I have cabinets that reach 115*F in the summer, even after
being shaded and ventilated. Would I be looking at lockup problems or
an early death? An AP-1000s will lock up in the box, although a
Linksys WRT won't. (don't ask)
