Just wanted to let everyone know I am going to be taking down the email
server that hosts the WISPA lists at 1AM tonight to do some quick

I thought GFCI's were to protect circuits from moisture mainly, AFAIK they
do not provide any type of protection for devices other than cutting the
circuit if it senses a ground fault.

For that matter, the GFCI contributed nothing to lightening protection,
still lost a bunch of equipment.

We are using Linksys e1000s and WRT54GS2’s without any trouble.

Make sure you have the keep alive going in the router when you setup the
PPPOE connection, I have seen that cause problems in the past.

We have recently started switching over to PPPoE on our network and are
having a devil of a time with home routers disconnecting and reconnecting.
Have any of you using PPPoE found any particular router that works best on
your wireless network?

Get a TechNet account.

300 Bucks a year and you get basically 10 licenses of all new and old
Microsoft products, you even get licenses for the new stuff that they
release.

You can still buy OEM media and licenses from a number of resellers,
like Newegg. XP Pro should be around $150 per license.

Depending on what you're doing, it may be easier/cheaper to get a small
volume license of Windows 7 Professional, then use Windows XP Mode (a
customized copy of Microsoft Virtual PC with a pre-installed XP
environment).
