[WISPA] wireless engineer

2011-02-27 Thread William Phipps
Folks,

Can anyone here recommend a wireless engineer I could get in contact
with. I am hoping to assemble a prototype white space device that will
utilize the unlicensed UHF frequency range.

Best wishes,
Will

[WISPA] White Space Devices (WSD)

2011-02-26 Thread William Phipps
Folks,

Has anyone built a white space device, or know anyone that has?

If not, if anyone would like to get involved in a project to build a
white space device, feel free to get in contact on, or off list.

Best wishes,
Will

[WISPA] VPN

2011-02-26 Thread William Phipps
Folks,

Has anyone on the list got any experience of setting up a VPN? Or
perhaps put me onto someone that does.

Best wishes,
Will

[WISPA] White space deployments.

2011-02-23 Thread William Phipps
Folks,

I wondered if anyone has any experience of deploying a white space
(mobile wireless) network?

I am looking into deploying a test locally and am trying to figure out
what components are required, assuming I can get the necessary
licensing permission from Ofcom (UK equivalent to FCC) to access the
unlicensed spectrum. I noticed a test network was set up in
Wilmington, North Carolina; I would be looking into how I may
establish a similar test of white space technology and am keen to get
in contact with anyone that can help.

Best wishes,
Will

Re: [WISPA] Intro.

2011-02-13 Thread William Phipps
Stuart,

It is likely to be rural, failing that, then municipal. I hope to
build a mobile VPN on top of it. This is also something I am keen to
explore further, so any recommendations/information on mobile VPN
deployment over a DSA network would be more then welcome.

Meanwhile, I found this report on spectrum geolocation (published by
OFCOM) that some may find helpful:
http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/consultations/geolocation/summary
(scroll down for pdf link at bottom of page).

Best wishes,
Will
