Any of the Mikrotik (routerboard)
Family will do this for you as well.

They key thing to look for in addition to the ability to run on
  24v DC is :-

  1. Power Consumption
  2. Operating Temp
  3. Need for External Cooling

  Good Luck.

We like the Moxa's for our Solar Sites:

They use less then .1 amps and can be charged with 12/24/ or 48 volt.

I use the Digital Loggers Poe-24 which will eliminate the individual Poe's and
a Mikrotik set up as a switch. You also get auto ping/reboot function with the
Poe-25 and the ability to reboot each AP individually. With the mikrotik you
get many capabilities that a normal switch would not give you. I have one site
operating for 3 months perfect.

Re: [WISPA] 24 volt switch

everything runs on 24 volt; you are going to need to take the variable
power from the batteries and provide clean 24 volt, that is where the
POE-24 is going to work. You are going to want the auto boot function
also. We go from the solar controller(SS-MPPT-15L) to the DL POE-24.
We use a 24 panels and 24 volt agm battery array. We have 3 sites like
this. We standardize on this configuration which allows us to scale
from simple repeater to a 7 ap site and to easily spare the sites.

Re: [WISPA] 24 volt switch

2012-08-11 Thread ~NGL~
My main concern is power usage as these towers are all solar. That is why I do
not just use a 12 Volt switch with a 24 - 12 transformer

I use the Digital Loggers Poe-24 which will eliminate the individual Poe's
and a Mikrotik set up as a switch. You also get auto ping/reboot function with
the Poe-25 and the ability to reboot each AP individually. With the mikrotik
you get many capabilities that a normal switch would not give you. I have one
site operating for 3 months perfect.

Tough switch would be a perfect fit. If it isn't shipping then Digital
Loggers would be a good second.

I like a PacketFlux poe injector and RB.
