RE: [WISPA] OT: OpenSER and CCME
We aren't trying to use SCCP handsets with OpenSER. We are trying to get Cisco CallManager Express to act as the middle man between the SCCP handsets and our SIP infrastructure. Basically, the client uses CallManager as there internal PBX with outside lines via the PSTN but they want to use our VoIP services also. Scriv, OpenSER is a SIP proxy whereas Asterisk is more of an end device. We use both in our infrastructure to provide a good mix of resilience and features. Re: [WISPA] OT: OpenSER and CCME
We haven't tried that exact configuration, but our experience with Cisco was that on the voice front it wasn't very interoperable. Specifically, we never got it work correctly unless it was Cisco end-to-end. We also didn't care much for SCCP as the rest of the world decided on SIP. More recently, Cisco has adopted SIP and we have found Cisco SIP devices to work well with other non-Cisco SIP devices. You may find that using SIP on the Cisco phones and SIP with OpenSER may work better. -Matt Paul Hendry wrote: Hi all, This is slightly un wireless related but I was wondering if anyone else is using OpenSER for there VoIP platform and if anyone has managed to get Cisco Call Manager Express to work nicely with it? Is OpenSER similar to Asterisk? I am a VOIP newbie so talk to me like I am a 3rd grader! :-) Scriv Paul Hendry wrote: Hi all, This is slightly un wireless related but I was wondering if anyone else is using OpenSER for there VoIP platform and if anyone has managed to get Cisco Call Manager Express to work nicely with it?
