Re: [WISPA] Possible to export KML out of Tower Coverage?
Yes, There is now an option on the home page to order the files. It is not automated so our engineers actually have to do the work for conversion. When you order the files you will get 3 files for your multi-map. You get a shape (polygon file used by marketing companies, etc.) low resolution .kml, and a standard resolution .kml. Hopefully, UBNT will soon be able to support at least the low resolution .kml on the World Network system. At this time they do not have the capability for large enough .kml or shape files to be uploaded to their site. Re: [WISPA] Possible to export KML out of Tower Coverage?
Mike, Currently UBNT's site don't accept the KMLs that we generate. We are working with them to directly import it into their system, but they are saying they won't get to it till the end of the year.. :( We are working with them, simply put, most of our maps have more polygons than they are used to therefore their size limit prevents most of our maps from being imported.. :) But we are working on it with them. Our system is 99% done... Someone from Ubnt suggested using QGIS to smooth the KML before uploading it. I haven't tried it yet, but it's probably worth a shot. I did simplify my map to take it from about 3.2 megs down to 400 KB. It's precision vs accuracy vs not worth the trouble to try rendering a 30MB KML when a 30K one will do. -Kristian On 12/02/2013 12:48 PM, Mike Hammett wrote: I did simplify my map to take it from about 3.2 megs down to 400 KB.
