close comm antenna.

Along that same line...have you ever seen pictures/video of the construction
of the Empire State Building? All those steel workers working, eating, even
running on those 8 wide girders...without any safety equipment at all.
That was 80 years ago or so.

As they say a picture is worth a thousand words.

I thought you were pointing out the irony / contrast between the pictures of
the armed forces working with full harness and rigging fully tied to the
tower, vs the local Iraqi's working without even a rope on the tower.

Re: [WISPA] Some great photos

2009-09-07 Thread Scottie Arnett
*Just clearing up* My reply to the post was in no way political. The photos
with the Iraqi's on the tower freaked me out because they have NO safety gear
on what-so-ever. They are also only wearing tennis shoes. In my experience,
they are very uncomfortable walking on metal edges in the metal yard... I can
only imagine how they would feel on a tower.

On another note... Do any of the armed forces sell off these towers? I know
they sell off about everything else through govliquidation. I have not seen but
two or three towers selling on there in two years of looking.

Contained in this list are the photo and the story from the photographer's
perspective, that the AP was heavily criticized for publishing, of a wounded
soldier in Afghanistan that dies a few hours later. I think it's worth
sharing to reflect on the sacrifices made by our young men in harms way in
their effort to provide a safe future for our families and our children. It
also tells the story of their days and provides a stark contrast with our
lives and problems that we deal with daily.

If so inclined, a daily prayer is recommended for our troop's safety and
success in their endeavors to make this a safer world.
