Thanks for sharing. My first thought is enormous battery suck and my second 
thought is I hope there's an easy to find kill switch for the whole thing.

My first reaction after reading this:

Devices will only collect and send information to each other based on 
permissions the device’s owner has granted. For instance, if you were to 
configure a social app like Facebook to receive and send proximity notices, 
then Wi-Fi Aware would only pick the Facebook notices out of constant signal 
chatter, ignoring messages from all other apps.”
