[Wireshark-bugs] [Bug 14349] Closing Enabled Protocols dialog crashes wireshark

2018-10-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.wireshark.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=14349

The crash is fixed, but the root cause of the bug is not fixed.
If Wireshark is started from the terminal command line, I still get the 4
warning messages displayed on opening the Enable Protocols window.
"(wireshark-gtk:2264): Gtk-WARNING **: gkwidget.c:5628: widget not within a
GtkWindow" 4 times. This is in Wireshark 2.6.3. Same applies to 2.4.2.

Reproduce:

1. Configure Wireshark to NOT use GeoIP database (rename the directory
containing the maxmind dbs, do not remove the configuration inside wireshark)
2. Reboot Windows
3. Launch cmd.exe
4. with an arbitrary capture file run 'tshark -r file.pcap -Tfields -e
frame.len' which should work
5. Run 'tshark -r file.pcap -Tfields -e frame.len | sort' which should work

6. Rename the MaxMind DB directory to match the configured name inside
Wireshark prefs
7. Start Wireshark GUI, open any capture file and verify that GeoIP lookups
work
8. Go back to the cmd.exe and repeat the following commands:
9. 'tshark -r file.pcap -Tfields -e frame.len' which should work
10. 'tshark -r file.pcap -Tfields -e frame.len | sort ' which should Break and
halt without any output or return to command prompt

Check process list for mmdbresolve.exe -> once you kill all of them the CLI
should return to prompt

Pretty much the same bug as
https://bugs.wireshark.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=11692

When Qt Wireshark's I/O Graph Time of Day checkbox is checked, the X Axis will
be immediately updated but jumps to 01.01.1970.

How to replicate:

1 - Start Wireshark.

2 - Load the attached small capture file.

3 - Open the I/O dialog (Menu: Statistics / I/O Graph

4 - Click on the "Time of Day" checkbox to enable.

The Graph will jump to start at 01.01.1970 01:00 (on a European region with
GMT+1)

Wireshark is crashing when I am switching between profiles. I've attached a zip
file of some profiles that I recently created. There are two specific times
that I have been able to recreate the problem. I built the profile on 2.6.3 but
saw the biggest issue when opening on 2.6.4. I am not loading any large files
just starting Wireshark on my wireless interface and making the changes.

When capturing live packets and switching from one profile to another,
Wireshark crashes.

When going into preferences and making an update to any setting, upon saving
Wireshark crashes. There have been times that I need to overwrite the
preferences file just to stop Wireshark from continuing to crash.
