Kevin, just ideas I haven't tried but could be a workaround(s) for you: Reset the PRODUCTLANGUAGE property yourself (hokey, but perhaps useful in the short term). Look at where in the install sequence the other thing is setting it, that might give you a clue as well. I don't see German on install (I have seen it on install when the disk is full but the disk is not full any more). I do see a button with a German label on uninstall right now. I don't notice anything in the log on uninstall that would look like a German string. I do see when it is dumping the properties: Property(S): ProductLanguage = 1033 Property(S): PRODUCTLANGUAGE = 1031 Could this be the source of my problems? Durint installation I briefly see a German message appear during the progress: dialog. When there is an error I see an error dialog piop up that is entirely in German. But like I said I don't see any German in the MSI using ORCA. During uninstall I see several buttons that have German text. Bottom line is how can I configure the installation so I don't see German. [WiX-users] Error in German?
I have a Wix generated .msi file and it has been working fine for sometime now (in English). Recently when I tried to deply on a machine that was low on disk space I received an error dialog indicating that the machine had insufficient space to proceed but this error message was in German. The buttons were in German also. I generate the .msi using: ItemGroup !-- Required WiX item. Files in this item are sent to the Candle tool. -- Compile Include=$(BaseInputPath)\BsiServices.wxs/ /ItemGroup PropertyGroup !-- Required to display strings in proper localized form -- LocalizedStringFile$(ToolPath)WixUI_en-us.wxl/LocalizedStringFile /PropertyGroup ItemGroup WixLibrary Include=$(ToolPath)wixui.wixlib;$(ToolPath)wixca.wixlib;$(ToolPath)sca.wixl ib/ /ItemGroup So I am confused as to why the German is showing up.
