I was on that YouTube video by TOTAL concidence. As I finished watching
another video, that clip (75 of over 100!) was suggested to me to watch
next...and as far as I know, the Elmo clip is not in all 100-plus of them!

I really loved a lot of the anchors. Anderson. Nissen. No, not
Beth...Nissen.

Kevin and Thalia were probably my favorite team, and not just because
of...Canada. Though you do walk in to WNN with bonus points if you come
from Canada. (And not just because Kevin actually said goodbye to us on
this very list.)

And Bill...the sub who got it, ran with it. Knows more about sports than
Bill Greenwood.

Sigh, memories.

Looking at the clip that was posted, it dawns on me I have no idea who the
anchors are now, it's been that long since I've watched, Yet, it's still
good to know a) it's still there; and b) the Elmo clip is still around, so,
LET'S POLKA!

beginning of the year, which I'm imagining involves a celebration of all

And I keep expecting that we'll find that "Teej", who *may* be related to 
T. J. Holmes, has the equivalent of Fibber McGee's closet under his bed,

(in psychology), and now I’m a graduate school professor (in biostatistics, 
not broadcast communications).

Tracey and I started watching WNN during her pregnancy with our first child, 
Jacob.  Jacob is now a Broadcast Communications major at the University of 
Alabama in his sophomore year.  That thought alone astounds me.  

I started on this list in 1995.  After starting flame-wars for no good reason 
(I was young and stupid), I settled in with this group of people, who I have 
had in my life for longer then I ever imagined would be possible.  

We loved Kevin and Thalia.  My faves were always Bill and Shiela, the battling 
Bickersons.  Still to this day, there's just enough weirdness to enjoy it in 
the middle of the night.

And by the way even further, Channel 23 used to be WAKR-TV, co-owned with 
radio's 1590 WAKR, a station which against its better judgement employs me as 
afternoon anchor these days...
