Via a dedicated user.

Maybe that's a better idea anyway, but how do you do that?

Tried this in my wpkg.cmd

net use z: \\host\wpkg pass /user:username
set WpkgRoot=Z:

Please reply to the list as well.

No, don't use a script for that.

Just put user and a password in WPKG Client configuration to access that
share (or try to use computer password) - and that's it.

I am replying back to the list including your reply, which was sent only
to me.

WPKG is run on each client separately; the debug output above may have
misled you. It does not "go on to the next host". You have to configure
each of your clients to execute wpkg.js on its own, either by installing
the wpkg client or by calling wpkg.js by TaskPlanner, GPO or whatever.
Checks, of course, will then occur on and apply to each host individually

hi Andreas,

I realised that by having the line this was picking up my current machine first and trying to run the
profile "other" instead of using the profile "maths"

I have now added my machine to the top of the list and the script does work.

My question now is this: As dia is already installed on my machine,
once the script checks to see dia is already installed it appears to
shutdown, does this mean the other 22 machines on my list no longer
get DIA installed? Or will the script go onto the next host and repeat
the process of checking for DIA to be installed?

Hello,

this means you have defined in your hosts.xml that the host in question
should use a profile named "other", but your profiles.xml only contains
a profile named "maths". Fix your profile and/or your host definition
and it should work.

[wpkg-users] Software installation has failed

2009-09-18 Thread Stephen Ross
I am testing WPKG on 20 odd machines, the original test in the guide worked
perfect on the one client.

The problem I have now is, I keep receiving this error when running wpkg.js:

Re: [wpkg-users] disable debug

Hi Jacob,

Are you sure these files are new? If you set logLevel to 1 (errors only) WPKG
usually would log nothing at all. So if you still have some log files in your
log directory they just stay there unless WPKG has to write a new one.

So you might still see a log of a previous run because any following WPKG run
with logLevel 1 did not have to write to a log file at all.

So try removing your old log files and see if it's re-created. Probably it's
not.
