Can anyone point me in the right direction for a CSS based horizontal navigation using UL's and LI's, where the first Level of nav uses images!?

Title: body onload=blah not working in Mac IE 5.2, any suggestions?

Hey Guys
Got a problem, which only occurs in IE Mac 5.2, with using the onload function in an HTML BODY tag, any suggestions how I might be able to get around it?

html
head
titlerandom Masthead background/title
meta http-equiv=Content-Type content=text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
script language=_javascript_ type=text/_javascript_
//Edit this line to list all of your background images
var backgroundSrcs = new Array(images/header1.jpg,images/header2.jpg,images/header3.jpg,images/header4.jpg)
function pickimage()
{
//This line picks an image at random from the list you entered above
var bgimage=backgroundSrcs[(Math.round(Math.random()*(backgroundSrcs.length-1)))]
//This line applies the background image to your masthead
document.getElementById(masthead).style.backgroundImage = url(' + bgimage + ');
}
/script
style
#masthead{
position:absolute;
top:0px;
left:0px;
width:100%;
height:104px;
border: 1px solid blue;
}

[WSG] Two columns, one fluid one fixed?

Title: Two columns, one fluid one fixed?

Hey Guys

Got a simple one, but can't seem to get my head round it

I'm after a 2 column setup, one fixed width and the other fluid. I can get the following code to work in IE 5, 5.5 and 6, but not in Safari, Mac IE 5.2 and Firefox...

!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC -//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN

html

head

titleUntitled/title

style

#container{

text-align: left;

margin: 0;

width: 100%;

}

#centrecontent {

float: left;

border: 1px solid red;

}

#right {

width:182px;

float:right;

border: 1px solid blue;

}

/style

/head

body

div id=container

div id=right

/div

/div

/body

/html

I'm pretty sure it's something simple, but it's the end of the day and I can't spot it! Any ideas? I need to keep the the :float: left; in the #centrecontent

Thanks in advance...

[WSG] Printed web pages with text cut in half at the bottom of the page?

2005-08-11 Thread Bennie, Jack
Title: Printed web pages with text cut in half at the bottom of the page?

Has anyone encountered the problem, when printing a web page, where the last line of text is being cut in half?
By this I mean that the top half of the letters print on one page and the bottom half print on the next.

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this and how to stop it? I've run some tests and it doesn't seem to be browser specific... [Nice for change! ;)]

Cheers

Hey guys
I'm getting some bizarre behaviour from my footer.
In IE6 when the page loads it seems to sit in the middle of the page/content but when I mouse over the nav on the left it sorts its self out?
In IE5, a similar problem occurs when I change the width of the browser window: the footer moves and flashes over the middle of the page?

Can anybody help? This has been driving me mad!
Hope a URL is ok?!

Cheers
