[WSG] Windows ME and AOL problem
Title: Nachricht Hi @llz, Sorry, I just se that I forgot to turn off digital signing in my first post ;-(. So once again: The site: http://www.amnesty-4-families.info/ CSS: http://www.amnesty-4-families.info/styles/layout.css and http://www.amnesty-4-families.info/styles/presentation.css HTML and CSS validation OK. Now I've got a message from an American user: "... She has Windows ME and AOL ... When the site first came up it was on AOL's smaller window. It looked okay. When I enlarged it to fit the screen the left side drop-down menu and the links all moved to the center area and sat on top of the text. When I clicked HOME it fixed it, but when I clicked SOUTH AFRICA it did it again." What's this? Has anyone any idea? [WSG] OT: We need some international help! Urgently!
Hi @llz, We need some help and support setting up an international plattform! A4F is a no-nonsense, instant-action based approach to family rights and equal parenting, based on mutual self-help and rapid 'organic' growth. We are now in the development phase and would very much appreciate some practical ideas and contributions. The subject of relational rights is huge. The idea of creating such a structure is to produce a very low-cost institution capable of not dropping any enquiry, producing organisation, through databased webforms, out of nothing, and thus being able to confront family law professionals and other bureaucrats who make our lives with our children sheer grief - if we are lucky enough to see them. The development front page is set up at: http://www.amnesty-4-families.org/A4F_dev_home.php The aim is to create a peer-to-peer interface site which processes enquiries and transforms them into actions and records. The structure is meant to facilitate the activities of all groups and individuals working in the area of family rights, not to supplant them. Provisionally, two development site links have been set up on the above webpage so that people can create site designs on their own webspace. Email redirects for design teams will be set up as they define themselves through the [EMAIL PROTECTED] email - please use it for initial dev contacts. Sample process concepts are indicated here: http://www.amnesty-4-families.org/A4F_Concept.php Required skills are for example: PHP, mySQL, any interface design skills, any graphical design skills, and of cause a lot of webstandard skills. Please contact us if you have any free capacities and any relationship to worldwide family rights. Yours, Dietmar. ** The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/ See http://webstandardsgroup.org/mail/guidelines.cfm for some hints on posting to the list getting help **

thanks for responding. I've just tried that locally and it didn't make any difference? Richard Well, but it is a better way to see the whole html and css. May be there is something else, which overrides your classes or id's. ;-) R. AW: [WSG] Probs with IE behaviour of height attribute of boxes
Hi Ben, There's another issue:. in IE, your empty div id=divisor-2 appears taller than 1px. 19 pixels to be precise. Even though the DIV is empty, it still has a font-size of 16px. Set the font-size to 1px to fix this. THAT'S it! Thanks für the hint! ;-) Very silly ... It looks like you are using this empty DIV as a horizontal rule. Have you considered using a HR instead? Well, it's only a horinzontal rule. HR will not do it, because there are different behaviours in Firefox, NS and IE when styling an HR with css. Try it yourself, it's also terrible. OK, anyway - problem solved. Title: Nachricht Hi @llz, Take a look at the problem at www.albruco.com/erbguth. The corresponding stylesheet will be here www.albruco.com/erbguth/style.css. You see, in IE the horizontal 'box', which should be displayed as a line and it's height is defind to 1px, appears terrible. This problem ONLY exists in IE. Any ideas?
