[WSG] ASP.NET XHTML compliant blogging

2005-11-20 Thread Mark B
Hi All

Does anyone know of any blogging software that's asp.net based that
produces XHTML compliant code, or can be persuaded to do so without
heaps of work?

I've checked out dasblog, community server (AKA .text) and
singleuserblog, and they all have errors in the dozens or hundreds on
their default skins.

Cheers,

Mark

[WSG] Noob question... CSS padding on tables

2005-10-29 Thread Mark B
Hi All

Bit ofa noob question. Working on a site using tables/html 4 (technical restraints). I'm finding that when I apply CSS padding to a table, in firefox, the padding is only applied to the table, whereas in IE, the padding is applied to all the cells in the table, which for a table with more than 1 cell gives a noteably different result.

I'm sure there's an easy workaround for this, but I don't know what it is. Anyone care to provide some pointers?
Thanks,

Mark

(Granted, it's a heavy metal song, so it's not exactly mainstream.)

[WSG] Semi-newbie: advice needed

2005-03-23 Thread Mark B
Hiya.

I'm an experienced HTML CSS coder who has dabbled a little with the
XHTML/CSS way of doing things, but frankly, am a little lost. All the
tutorials I've found on the web assume that you are either experienced
and trying to do some advanced stuff, or are completely new and don't
know CSS. I'm looking for an online tutorial or book that will help me
go from the old ways to the new ways - help wean me off tables! :)

Can anyone offer suggestions? I'm sure many others on this list have
been down this path.

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks for help/suggestions all.

I did some research on the various suggestions, I've ordered Web
Standards Solutions by Dan Cederholm, sounds like exactly what I
want. I'll have a play around in a few of the suggested sites as well.

Cheers,

Mark
