- www.cartalocal.es: its on-line magazine

Thanks,

[WSG] checkbox checked in XHTML

2004-08-13 Thread McCain
Hi,

I am trying to validate like XHTML 1 Strict a web page with a form. There is
checkbox that it has to be checked using checked. The W3C validador gives
me error constantly in this. There is no possibility of using checked in
XHTML?

Shouldn't checked=checked validate?

RE: [WSG] fieldset is REQUIRED

2004-07-02 Thread McCain

Inputs and form elements MUST be inside a Block element like fieldset,
div, p, ... for XHTML 1.0 Strict complience, but not necesarily and only
inside fieldset.

Mordechai,

are you saying that, for XHTML1.1 complience, that a label and it's
associated form element needs to be within a fieldset?

if so, we've got a few changes to do around here ... D'oh!

thanx

After getting: Error: element label not allowed here; possible cause is

an inline element containing a block-level element. I finally figured
out that a fieldset is required for XHTML1.1. However, after after doing

some checking I couldn't find anything at the W3C about it in anything
which passes even for their version of plain English. Sure, in the
DTD's, grammars, etc., I found it stated, but not in anything which
doesn't remind me of some of college classes.

ot type=contemplation rel=computer-hw
It's amazing how little computers have changed in the last 25 years.
Sure, they've become orders of magnitude more powerful and are therefor
able to do so much more. But are they really different from the old
TRS-80 Model I Level 2 which the guy at Radio Shack let me play with?

RE: [WSG] How to insert QuickTime on website and validate like XHTML?

2004-06-28 Thread McCain
A solution very good to avoid embed tag.

But to fulfill the norms of WAI accessibility I must have an alternative
auditory description, and when putting it like Techniques for Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 they simultanealy leave the MOV and the WAV to
me. Some solution? One assumes that the WAV leaves if the MOV cannot be
loaded. I try to avoid the display of the WAV using param name=hidden
value=true /, but it not make any change.

To see what I am doing: www.auskalo.com/imasce/comptos/test.html

McCain

Try the Standards Compliant method to add Quicktime movies to pages
http://realdev1.realise.com/rossa/rendertest/quicktime.html

and be sure to check out the browser tests chart:
http://realdev1.realise.com/rossa/rendertest/quicktime.html#update

cheers dez

In one of websites which I am doing I must put virtual visits done in
QuickTime. If I use EMBED to see the visits in not-IE navigators,
website
will not validated like XHTML. Some solution? I already know the solutions
for the Flash like Flash Satay, but I don't know how apply it to a
QuickTime.
