I'd heartily recommend the O'Reilly JavaScript: The Definitive
Reference by David Flanagan -- it has a good section on HTML4 events
as well as DOM (Gecko) and IE event models.

Hi Berry,

Not really much out there on theory, but Gecko has a pretty compliant
DOM implementation.
