Well, this little code snip is part of a flash detection. The user should be automatically redirected after detection. There is a noscript-part with a simple link for users with disabled javascript. We are going to drop this detection soon, but now we have to keep it, because there are several parts of a complex web application which depend on it. I need the replace method because the detection page may not be recorded in the browser history. (Otherwise we'll get some problems with google and their ad-words policies).
