Re: [wsjt-devel] Problems with Astro Data UI (v1.6.1)

Hi Bill,

Just as a trial I have committed a change to the development branch that
changes the system menu for that window. Can someone who builds on Win10
git it a try and see how it works. The disadvantage is that there will
be no minimize button.

That works here. See astro1.png and astro2.png with Dopler Tracking enabled

I do not have a Win10 system here to check with. It may be that the Qt
developers have changed the top level window code to address this. I
suggest that we wait until I have made the v1.6.0-rc1 kits as that will
be built with Qt 5.5.1 on Windows.

The WSPR section probably needs more. The band hopping schedule should
be either referenced or documented in the User Guide. The key difference
from prior versions is is that all configured bands may be scheduled but
the ones that are not in the coordinated set are slotted in randomly
where scheduled bands are excluded by the user settings.

They should all be automatic so long as the {VERSION} attribute has been
used in the asciidoc sources. When a RC is tagged and built the correct
name will be injected, the same applies to a final GA release.

FWIW, I've not changed any of the default setting for the Theme (Fonts
colors etc). My Win-10 install is using whatever it ships with, which,
in the case of menu headers (for all applications, not just WSJT-X), is
rather ugly if you ask me.

2015-11-16 Thread Greg Beam
Hi Joe, Bill,

I've been playing with different modes and wanted to look at the Astro
Data Widget. I ran into a couple things, on Win-10.

When I first open the Astro Data Box, the position is in the top left
corner of the display. Not a problem, but, unless I check the "Dopler
Tracking" box, I cannot grab / move the widget even with the pull down
move function.

Additionally, the menu header gets truncated to just "W" when the "Doper
Tracking" *is not* selected, and again, I cannot move the widget.

Not a big issue, unless your *not using* Dopler Tracking, which most
folks probably would use. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Hi Sean,

the above may be a clue. The Tx process uses the current time to
synchronize the synthesized audio with wall clock time, if the function
used to get he current time is misbehaving then that could mess
everything up. The stopped UTC clock further implies that there may be
an issue with the time functions on 32-bit Linux/PPC.

Are you able to set up SSH access to your Mac Mini so I can try some
tests on it?

[wsjt-devel] JTSDK / WSJTX / WSPR PowerPC Processors, Update.

2015-11-16 Thread Sean Sharkey
Morning Everyone,

As some of you may recall for the last few weeks I have been endeavouring to
get JTSDK and WSJTX / WSPR running using the PowerPC platform and Linux.

A very big thank to Greg and Bill for all of the help / encouragement.

Well the good news. I’ve managed to get all of the packages up and running
successfully on an iMac which uses a G5 (64 bit) PowerPC processor and Ubuntu
Mate 15.04.
Everything is working as expected and it all seems reasonable stable.

For my second challenge I decided to try compiling everything on a MacMini
which uses a G4 (32 bit) PowerPC processor and Lubuntu 14.04.

Initially everything went well, JTSDK is up and running as is WSPR, both
working perfectly.

WSJTX has presented me with an issue. It is up and running and receiving well.
As I type this I’m watching the audio being received in the Wide Graph
window and the program is decoding and displaying the incoming frames as
expected. I cannot however for the life of me get WSJTX to produce any audio or
go into transmit.

I’ve checked all of the hardware / linux configuration several times and it is
all working.

What I noticed about WSJTX is two things.

The date and time are incorrect. When launched the program shows 2015 Jun 17
01:23:45 and that never changes. And secondly and perhaps most importantly
for now, the Tx-Enable indicator is permanently set to “Tx-Enable Disarmed,”
with the progress bar set to the left of the display. Neither the title
“Tx-Enable Disarmed,” or
the progress bar ever change.

So far, no matter what I do, I cannot get WSJTX to produce an audio output.
I’ve tried monitoring it using Pavucontrol and there is no indication that the
program
is producing audio, at any stage, on the output.

Any thoughts, comments, insight, gratefully received.

Kind regards,

Sean.

[wsjt-devel] bppSpinBox modification request

2015-11-16 Thread Alessandro Gorobey
Hi All,

My stupid error cause the wsjtx crash.
I inserted from keyboard value of 1000 in Wide Graph selecting
"Bin/Pixel" instead of "start".

Changing in widegraph.ui of 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 the value from 1000 to 20 or
less avoids this error.
